Review: BYS Brow and Eye Pencil in Blonde

Here's a review on BYS Brow and Eye Pencil in Blonde

THE VERDICT:

I have friends who swear by Shu Uemura's Hard Brow Pencil, one of their top five products. It's pricey, definitely, and I swatched it one time when I dropped by a Shu Uemura counter. One great thing I noticed about that is it covers very thinly and evenly, regardless if you use a light or heavy hand on it. Suffice to say, it's very fool proof and soon enough, I'll buy one for the sake of trying.

I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with Shu Uemura's top- rated product and if you want to get the same fool-proof attribute without spending way too much cash, try out BYS' Brow and Eye Pencil in Blonde.

BYS BROW AND EYE PENCIL IN BLONDE IN DETAIL

BYS' Brow and Eye Pencil comes in three colors: Brown, Black, and Blonde. As the name implies, you can use it on your eyes also.

Ingredients

Comes in a semi- matte black tube with a medium roundness. I like its texture because it doesn't slide off my fingers.

It's quite slim, and has this chiseled edge for you to map your brows easily. Use the tip of the edge for thin application or for filling in gaps and shaping brows, and the body of the tip for thick application. Product's not secure so don't twist it all the way up-Around 1- 2 cm will do.

Top: 1 layer
Bottom: 2 layers

Blonde is a taupe-brown shade-it kinda' reminds me of MAC'S Brow Gelcreme in Dirty Blonde. Consistency is semi- hard cream and needs to be warmed up before usage. Payoff is nice and even, and coverage is sheer to medium. With the kind of coverage it imparts, I think it's not the most ideal thing to use for eye lining because pigmentation too light and you have to rub it on for a couple of times to get definition, thus it might be a bit irritating for the sensitive skin around your eyelids.

BYS BROW AND EYE PENCIL IN BLONDE IN ACTION

Bare eyebrow

Two layers of BYS Brow and Eye Pencil in Blonde

It feels a lil' sticky for while, but it dries to a matte finish after a minute or two. It's soft, applies neatly and doesn't clump on hair strands. It gives off minor streaks, although you can fix that easily after shaping your entire brow. It stays intact all day even on oily skin, yet washes off easily. Generally, it's fine, but for those with large brow gaps, you might need a more pigmented brow pencil to fill 'em in for a more even brow look.

I can't really say if this is as good or even better than Shu Uemura's Hard Brow Pencil as I haven't tried the latter properly yet so that would be unfair if I'll make a conclusion. I'll just say that in the field of affordable brow pencils, this is worth every penny and again, if you want to get the Hard Brow Pencil's very sheer coverage at a budget- friendly cost, this product is good enough. It's also an affordable lead- free alternative to traditional, lead brow pencils to give your eyebrows a break. FYI, continuous and long-term usage of lead- based pencils may lead to hair loss. :)

  2. My routine for my eyebrows: just thread and I'm good to go. With my thick colored brows, parang hindi ko na kailangan mag-brow pencil. Pero ngayon, nari-realize ko na yung importance nitong product na to, and I will try experimenting on my brows! Take care :)

  4. I have the Brown one, and I love it! Just be careful when applying though, as it breaks easily. Mine did when I was doing a swatch post! :(

  6. Blonde looks more like a taupe color, no? Very natural :) I'm using the one from Etude House, which costs not more than 150 bucks, plus when I finish it I can buy re-fills which are only 40pesos a pop! But this one comes with a reasonable price din naman :)
