THE VERDICT:

I think you all know that I swear by Bobbi's base products so when she came up with a BB Cream, I just had to try it and truth be told, I had great expectations. I'm fairly happy with this BB Cream because it's perfect for me in many ways: it's yellow- toned, has a fresh, gel- like texture, makes my skin look glowing, and has good concealing power!

BOBBI BROWN BB CREAM IN NATURAL IN DETAIL

Bobbi Brown's BB Cream comes in 5 shades (Extra Light, Light, Fair, Medium, and Natural) and is infused with Scutellaria, Caffeine, and Sucrose that brighten skin and address aging, Sodium Hyaluronate to lock in moisture, and SPF 35 PA+++ to protect the skin from UVA and UVB rays.

It comes in one size only and in a handy plastic tube.

Natural is a yellow- toned medium dark beige shade. The product has got a good selection at 5 shades, but I find that it leans more on the light and medium shade spectrum. Natural looks just a teeny bit light on me, but I find it tolerable because it complimented my undertone very well.

The product has a whipped, gel- like texture that is very moisturizing, but doesn't feel heavy even if it looks quite goopy and thick in the swatch-it's quite easy to blend too.

BOBBI BROWN BB CREAM IN NATURAL IN DETAIL

Bare skin

Two layers of the BB Cream

I always apply two layers to achieve the coverage I desire. It can cover light to medium discolorations and cancels out redness effectively. If you look closely though (as in really close), you'll still notice that a few marks are still somewhat peeping through the BB Cream, but at a standard distance, they're covered and skin looks even. I doubt that you'll let someone get REAL close to your face, right? :) It's pretty watery, ergo your skin will feel wet upon application and it takes a while to settle in so apply each layer gradually and buff the product onto your skin properly. Glad to know that powder doesn't cake on top of it despite the texture!

The amazing thing about this product is it really looks 'just like skin'. It gives my skin a plump, hydrated look and it feels absolutely light and looks absolutely natural that no one will ever think that I'm wearing something else aside from powder. It did not make my skin oily-in fact, I even felt that it helped keep oil at bay because of the sodium hyaluronate ingredient. The only downside is this product doesn't last that long and by the 4th hour, coverage has faded significantly already that I have to apply powder foundation by this time to replenish my base. That said, methinks it's best used if you'll be inside an air-conditioned venue all day long as the heat and humidity may speed up fading. To make it last longer, I use a very good mattifying translucent powder and finish it off with Mary Kay Makeup Finishing Spray

This BB Cream could've been perfect for me if not for the poor staying power so I'll say that I like it because by far, it is the only BB Cream that looks superiorly good on my skin tone. I believe it's best for dry skin as well and basically, for Filipinas because all the shades come with a yellow undertone!

  1. Love the finish. It really looks just like second skin. Too bad it's not that long-lasting though. :/

  2. Thank goodness this BB Cream is yellow-toned! Super ideal for Filipinas. I also like that they included caffeine to the ingredients. I've heard that it reduces cellulite and eye bags. I DIY my own coffee mask and my skin feels so energized and firm afterwards. :)

  3. Ok, now I'm confused. I thought I'm convinced with Nars tinted moisturizer. Now it's between this and Nars. I love Nars Sheer Glow, and I love Bobbi brown foundations too. Two of my fave face bases.

  4. Jae: True. Oh well!

Rae: If you don't mind its mediocre staying power, then go for this. Love its skin- like finish! The Nars Tinted Moisturizer is pretty good, IMO. I have a review on that. :)

DearKaaat; That, and caffeine brightens skin too. :)
