THE VERDICT:

You know, I'm really liking how Smashbox calls their makeup products-they're so positive that I get inspired whenever I see them. I'm all for positivity as I've proven that this is vital to success and to something as simple as having a great day!

Anyway! Their new product, Be Legendary Lip Gloss indeed has a legendary glass- like texture and true enough, it is non- sticky!

SMASHBOX BE LEGENDARY LIP GLOSS IN DETAIL

Be Legendary Lip Gloss is inspired by lamp gels that are used in films and photo shoots to give a scene a wash of color. These gels are pigmented, but feel superbly thin and light. The range features 16 shades from sheer nudes to glittery black.

The lip gloss comes in a sleek square tube with a paddle- shaped wand, which I find a little awkward because it's not spot- on and I always seem to get smudges around my lip line with it. Maybe they should have opted for the doe foot applicator instead-that always works!

SMASHBOX BE LEGENDARY LIP GLOSS IN ACTION

Bubble Gum Pink- pastel pink with a slight lilac undertone.

Bubble Gum Pink is the sheerest among the three. It's great for smoky eye looks and fair skin. It actually looks good on warm skin tone too, but the shade's not really my cup of tea. :)

Coral With Shimmer- Warm Coral with gold micro shimmer.

Coral With Shimmer looks very nice on warm skin and it's also an MLBB shade. The shimmers are unnoticeable on the lips, but they give the shade an exceptionally shiny finish-this shade's the shiniest among the three.

 Bright Pink Fuchsia- Warm fuchsia.

My favorite among the three. Bright Pink Fuchsia leans on the warmer side, thus it looks great on warm skin. On fair skin, color looks even bolder and brighter. It's something I'd wear to the beach because texture and finish is pretty light, but is pigmented enough!

These glosses have an ultra light, gel- like texture that feels super smooth and is just like glass, really. Props to its non- sticky consistency: I don't get lip gloss residue on my cheeks and hair when the wind blows my strands all the way to my lips. Pigmentation is light to medium, however, and not heavy as I expected it to be since Smashbox said that these are inspired by lamp gels, but you can use them on top of lipstick to give it a little 'oomph.' Staying power is not so good too as it needs to be reapplied frequently during wear, but its finish is very youthful and fresh, and it's something you can wear to school as it has just the right amount of shine and color. Wish that the formula would be improved next time, but hands down, this is the smoothest and lightest gloss I've ever used.

  1. I think they made it in paddle-shape because lip gloss is meant to be put just on the center of the lips after lipstick. Though it can be worn alone, the hassle of retouching is a bit tedious for me.

I like the coral with shimmer. I have two or three lip glosses na coral and they complement with pinks and nude lipsticks.

  2. I should be focusing on the lips but the brows are too bold not to be noticed, I sooooo love it.
i love how they can be worn without lipstick and it would still look good. I sure would hope they have great staying power.

  3. Pastel pink almost always looks good on fair-skinned gals, but Bubble Gum Pink looks good on you. Anyway, I like Coral With Shimmer (good to know that the shimmers aren't obvious) and Bright Pink Fuchsia.

  4. Personally I'm not into lip glosses, I just don't like that they're often sticky and heavy on my lips, plus I don't like shiny lips though it's said to give that youthful effect. :D
    - Good thing that most of the well-known brands are innovating there formulas from time to time.

  10. Marielle: That's also a possibility, but I like applying gloss all over. :) Besides, the wand just deposits too much color. :p

    Jen: Thanks! :)

Carmela: great choice! that's my fave too. :)

Betsy: sticky glosses are a thing of the past. I used to hate glosses 'cuz of that, but you're right-brands are starting to innovate, which is always a good thing!

Rizza: thanks for sharing your picks!

  11. what other lipgloss can you recommend aside from this? i've been looking for lipgloss (the non sticky ones) my whole life and still can't find a single lipgloss who wouldn't stick with my hair. It is so hassle especially in a warm day.
