THE VERDICT:

Okay, guys, don't panic when I tell you this:

ORIGINS IS OPENING IN THE PHILIPPINES THIS SEPTEMBER 2015!

It's finally confirmed! Origins will open its doors once again to natural skin care- loving Filipinas! I'll be at the grand launch and I'll be your eyes for this event (just follow me at @thebeautyjunkee for live updates)!

I'm reviewing Origins Smarty Plants CC Cream, a moisturizing CC Cream for everyone today!

ORIGINS SMARTY PLANTS CC CREAM IN LIGHT/MEDIUM IN DETAIL

This CC Cream promises to correct skin tone, impart hydration, and counter the damaging effects of free radicals with an antioxidant infusion. It is Paraben, Phthalates, and Sulfates- free, has SPF 20, and comes in three shades: Very Light, Light To Medium, and Medium To Dark.

This one should fit girls with light to light/medium skin tone (MAC NC20-NC35). It has light to medium coverage and a slightly goopy texture, like liquid-cream. It has a strong lavender-ish scent; not a lot may find this good though!

ORIGINS SMARTY PLANTS CC CREAM IN LIGHT/MEDIUM IN ACTION

One layer of the CC Cream

I find its consistency a bit too much for my combination oily/normal skin so I only use a very, very light layer to give my skin a radiance boost; I find that this is more of a glow- inducing product than a corrector; I don't use moisturizer with this one anymore due to its texture. Otherwise, my face might turn into an oil depot.

CC Cream is meant to be used under any kind of foundation because it's a correcting product, but since the texture of this one is a tad bit thick, it's better off with powder foundation only or worn on its own. I thought that this particular shade will look too white on me, but it somehow adjusted to my skin tone; wish it had better coverage though. Staying power is so-so.

What's great about this product is it smooths out lines and evens out the skin texture: look at how plump my skin is in this photo. ;) Also, I noticed that with this product, my skin doesn't get dry most especially on the corners of my nose during wear.

TIP: Got oily skin? Set this product a matte powder instead of a creamy one to prevent greasiness.

Origins Smarty Plants CC Cream can still be improved in a couple of ways: wish it had a moisturizing-demi matte consistency, better coverage, and its formula will be adjusted to Asian skin and climates because as it is, it's well- suited to Caucasian skin and colder climates. I'm not its target audience, but if you've got dry, saggy skin, I feel that you will like this product due to its texture, plumping effect, and it supplies skin with continuous moisture to stall dryness.

  1. Waah! This is too oily for me. I may have to skip this but there are other items in the store, I'm sure I am bound to find one that will suit me! I am a bit confused. I thought Origins was already opened? I went to their store recently. I guess this is sort of like their official opening. I would love to be there! Thanks for this post. :)

  2. It's probably a "winter" product, I was shocked to see how glowy it is! Sadly, I don't have dry skin so I won't work well with this product.

Excited for the launch! I want to try their products :)

  3. I have yet to try a CC Cream but I need something that is not too oily since my face is oily enough :( Judging from your picture, it hides your "natural Morena beauty" which we often see even under a layer of full make-up. Origins seems like a good brand to try out, though. Thank you for sharing! :) ~ Starr

  6. I agree with the others. This maybe not used best by Asian women especially those from tropical countries, like us. T_T I've read other reviews about this CC cream and most of them didn't like the product. Others even had allergies because of the plant oils included in this CC cream. The name sounds promising, though.
