One of my most favorite brow products EVAAAR is the Brow duo, specifically the one that combines brow powder and brow pencil simply because these are the brow products I love using to intensify my arches; The duo format pleases my ever changing makeup moods and preferences as well. :D
Two good brow powder-brow pencil duos I have tried are by K-Palette and Maybelline. I love both and I'd have to tell you that this blog post is really hard to write for me; it's like making me choose between my two kids haha, but in the spirit of Beauty Battles, one can only win.
K-Palette, Maybelline, may the odds be ever in your favor! :D
THE LOWDOWN:
K-Palette Real Lasting 2 Way Eyebrow features an eye pencil and eye powder that comes in three shades; Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper features the same products and comes in 2 shades only.
PACKAGING:
The width on both pens is universal: they fit my fingers snuggly and surface ain't slippery. K-Palette is just too long and Maybelline's pen has the right length for me.
Point Goes To: Maybelline
BROW PENCIL:
K-Palette's brow pencil's semi- creamy texture allows me to draw clean, uninterrupted lines. Maybelline's brow pencil is a bit hard and needs to be warmed up before usage, but when you finally do, it then glides on easily. Brow pencils on both products yield light to heavy coverage.
Point Goes To: K-Palette
BROW POWDER:
K-Palette's brow powder has a nice, creamy texture, but it doesn't cling onto brow strands and and naturally defines brows. Maybelline's pretty creamy and pigmented too, but it has the tendency to clump on hair strands.
Point Goes to: K-Palette
L-R: K-Palette, Maybelline
COLOR COMBINATION:
K-Palette's brow powder and pencil comes in the same shade; in a way, this negates the 'two products for the price of one' concept. Maybelline's brow powder and pencil comes in complementing shades, and to me, it's literally getting two products for the price of one because of the product and shade difference. I'm actually fine with both and I acknowledge that this won't be an issue for everyone.
Point Goes To: It's a tie!
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY:
K-Palette retails at P795.00 and is available in Beauty Bar Stores and Beauty Bar online and Maybelline is at P399.00 and available in leading department stores, drugstores, and supermarkets.
Point Goes To: Go figure! :D
OVERALL QUALITY:
Both of K-Palette's products are excellent, offer more variety, and I almost forgot to mention that formula is waterproof. Maybelline's powder is good, but the brow pencil can still be improve and formula is not waterproof.
Point Goes To: K-Palette
CONCLUSION:
Brows are really K-Palette's business so that's why they make some of the best brow products I have tried. Maybelline, on the other hand, is quite new at the brow game and I know (knowing how this brand continues to improve their products) they will get into the groove of it soon enough; I actually think Maybelline's Fashion Brow Duo is good for its price, but for now, I give the crown to K-Palette!

That is why I've been dreaming to try K-palette because I love brow products. I can't leave without doing my eyebrows. It's in my top list to buy ever since, hopefully very very soon. On the other hand, because maybelline is one of my fave brand I might try this out. Lets see:) Thanks for the unlimited reviews and trusted recommendations ms.martha! Much appreciated :D
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Hope you can purchase your first K-Palette items this Christmas! :D
DeleteBrows are super important to me now, I can go out without lip tint but I need my brows! I've already made a dent on my eyeshaodw turned eyebrow powder! I prefer soft looking brown rather than arched ones as I feel like this fits my face shape better.
ReplyDeleteFor pencils, the best I've tried is the face shop's design my brows :)
With Face Shop, I tried their Brow Mascara. Works pretty good and it's a dupe of MAC Brow Gel in Girl boy to me!
DeleteWow......nice
ReplyDeletei had the maybelline, i bought it after reading review on your blog, it was worth it! plus i got it on sale!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! :D
Deletemy favorite part of your blog! spend vs. save. :) i'm eyeing to buy K-Palette products but it's expensive and for me, there are other products that are the same with K-Palette which are affordable. may be soon, i will try K-Palette's products because based on your reviews, they have good quality beauty products. ;)
ReplyDeleteYes they have! I really swear by the brow pencil and brow powder duo :)
Deletebrow is my thing.. yay! will def try K palette even if it's pricey. huhu
ReplyDeleteIt's worth it! :D
DeleteK-Palettes are heaven sent products for us girls who are obsessed with out eyebrows! I love K-Palette! But I want to try Maybelline's version though.
ReplyDeleteYes! K-Palette is the bomb! Maybelline is decent. I like their brow mascara. :)
DeleteI agree Ms.Martha, I still wanted to try Maybelline's version though.
DeleteThat's the problem with most of the eyebrow pencils I've tried, they tend to clump on hair strands. One of the most annoying thing in the world! Haha. I haven't tried any from K-palette despite of the many good reviews I've read for almost all of their products. Haha but I think I know now which k-palette product will be my first purchase ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd which K-Palette product is that? :)
DeleteI have non-existent brows so it makes a huge difference in my face when i do my brows. Hope i could try K-Palette's brow duo. It's a bit pricey for me nga lang.*sighs*
ReplyDeleteI'm currently using Etude House Drawing Brow which I learned from you! Haha. I really like it. It has stays, doesn't smudge when I'm oily, and it's affordable. I really wanna try K- Palette but it's quite pricey for me right now. Anyway, I was in Beauty Bar yesterday and saw that K- Palette has a sale. P100 off to their products. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Awesome! Did you take advantage of the sale? You should have because they rarely go on sale! :D
DeleteI want to try the K-Palette product. I have used the Maybelline fashion brow but sadly, the pencil part just came off.
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda into hard pencils and I like the taupe-y shade from Maybelline. I guess it is just a matter of preference. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you're into hard pencils, you should try Shu Uemura's, the one that is being sharpened traditionally using a knife and can only be done so in Shu counters; I heard nice things about that product. :)
DeleteGreat review on Kpalette and Maybelline Brow Powder Pencil duos. Thank you for posting your feedback per criterion on which is a better find, and which works better. I've tried those that need to be sharpened, and those that you have to twirl.
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think of this post! :)
