It's been a rainy week; I hope you're all safe and dry at this point. I'm dreading the rain, but I gotta appreciate it; at least it's making our tree and plant friends really happy by providing them enough water to grow.

I don't know about you, but I am sooo loving the makeup trend for 2016 because Brown is back; in fact, I think this may be my most favorite year in beauty just because Brown has become an acceptable lip color; it is no longer categorized as old, boring, and dated.
Here are my five favorite neutral/brown lippies at the moment that I use on rotation on a daily basis:
MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL CREAMY MATTE BROWN IN NUDE NUANCE
- Maybelline's been making waves lately with their Color Sensational Creamy Matte lipsticks; it started with Touch Of Spice, a surprise best- seller, that inspired them to create a Brown lipstick line. Nude Nuance is my favorite in this range; such a perfect 90's brown. Good luck on finding one because it's always sold out!
- Nymphaea is one of this range's best- selling shades; it's a rosy brown that never fails to prettify any skin tone.
- Gemini is a pretty mauve- rose that gives skin a healthy, rosy glow. Bonus: it has an amazing rootbeer scent.
- Pink Sugar's latest lip colors are some of the nicest nudes I've seen, plus they're so affordable too. XOXO is great for warm, morena skin tones.
- Of course I had to include this best- seller from Sleek! It's a pretty peach-rose-beige shade that never fails to glam up any look!
So those are my favorite everyday neutrals. What are yours?

I think I'm liking the LA Splash Smitten Lip Mousse in Nympahea. It looks soooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite neutral color is Shawill's vogue noble no.9 I keep repurchasing it and as for my recent discovery I also love using burt's bees lipstick in Lily lake (perfect for my morena skin). Btw...I'm oogling those Jeffree Star lippie.

I also like nudes/browns lately... I'm actually hook with a no makeup "makeup look" :) I'm loving Happy Skin Mini Matte Lippie in New Love been using it for a week now "daily" and the Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipstick in Salmon Pink...

ReplyDeleteAhhh so that was Nude Nuance on you!!! I've been seeing that first photo across many of your blog posts and I've been very curious because it's really gorgeous! I recommended Dusky Rose from Ever Bilena on one of your IG posts as a possible dupe because Nude Nuance is definitely the new Touch of Spice, and it's probably gonna sell out like hot cakes. :) I've been eyeing XOXO from Pink Sugar too! Hot Mess and Girl Next Door were too light for my taste, but XOXO was right up my alley because it was deeper in color. :) My go-to neutrals as of late are Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry, L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Mat in Montaigne Brick, and Revlon Balm Stain in Honey. Sultry is pretty similar to Touch of Spice but it has a more mauvey undertone. Montaigne Brick is the only liquid lipstick formulation so far that I find comfortable to wear all day. I find most liquid lipsticks drying and unflattering on my lips as they stay on longer, but this one is pretty moisturizing and lasting power is awesome even if it doesn't set true matte. Honey is an MLBB shade that really make me look mahinhin (which I particulary like HAHAHA), and because it's a balm stain it leaves a nice tint on my lips even after two rice meals! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like Jeffree Star Velour Lipstick in Gemini on you, ang ganda talaga ng shade sayo. For me naman, my favorite is my Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in Honeymoon Glow.

ReplyDeleteI think I'm the last person who still doesn't have Sleek's Matte Me in Birthday Suit! It's such a great color and it looks great on everyone who wears it. What stops me from purchasing one is that I'm (a little) scared of how it will look like on my lips.

ReplyDeleteNeutrals / Rosy Browns are hands down my favorites and go-to shades for everyday and every occasion. I have been loving quite a few and still in a hunt for more lippies to add in my stash. Mine are: MAC lipstick in Whirl, Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Nude Nuance (just like yours! hehe), L'Oreal Colour Riche lipstick in Maple Mocha and Gerard Cosmetics' lipstick in 1995.

This is a great article for lipstick junkies like me! I have collected a lot of lipsticks though majority of them are on the darker shades, especially the vampy red ones. Last month I have bought Maybelline Rosy Matte in Rosy Peach and L'oreal Velvet Pink in Nymphea and I have been wearing them non-stop. :) Anyway, all of the lipsticks you suggested really caught my attention and I would like to get my hands on some of them, particularly Maybelline's Nude Nuance. :)
ReplyDeleteNude Nuance was love at first sight, but the more I use Clay Crush (both from Maybelline), the more it grows on me. I also love L'Oreal's Forever Frappe and Wet n Wild's Sandstorm. Xoxo, is a staple and I found Pinkie's Collection's Bark to be a dupe.
