Happy Friday! Finally, after a week and a half of sheer hard work and events left and right, I have time to work out today! Can't wait to caress those barbels and plates later LOL!
Today, we're going to talk about a cheeky topic; when I saw cheeky, I mean literal cheeks because we're discussing blushes today. Question is from April:
Hi Martha,Good day!! I was hoping to get a make-up tip from you.. I am April and currently, I am looking for a nice blush-on that I can use at work occasionally. I am actually not a make-up person, due to my oily skin I get a lot of breakouts so I don't put make-up everyday. But of course, there are days at work that make-up is necessary. Can you suggest a blush-on that will fit a morena skin? I prefer more affordable ones which will put just a hint of blush on my cheeks. I have a MAC lippie in Twig and Revlon in Soft Suede. What would go well with them?My new work requires a lot of client engagement so I think I must learn how to put light make-up already to be more presentable. I hope you can make a blog post for a corporate look too. :)Thanks in advance,April
Hey April!
Thanks for writing! Client engagement, you say? I can relate big time! One of my jobs is client assistance, engagement, and public relations, therefore makeup is a must.
MAC Twig, that's a lovely shade; not familiar with Revlon Soft Suede though, but I shall check that out.
Here's the thing: it's hard trying to think about which blush pairs well with which lipstick; it's time consuming so I suggest go for universal shades such as pink, peach, and my most favorite shade of all, rose.
And these are my recommended affordable blushes that you can use on a daily basis.
- Three products in one pan; great for mixing and matching; handy; smooth, buttery powders. What more can you ask for?
- One of the nicest powder blushes in the drugstore for me. This handy, baked blush series provides a pretty, skin- like flush with a hint of glow.
- A sleek, chic palette with three cheek products that will help you achieve a dimensional look.
4. COLOURPOP SUPER SHOCK CHEEK- Around P200.00+ I got this from colourpop.com directly
- This favorite Colourpop product of mine (second to their Brow Gel), is Super Shock Cheek blush; a pigmented, easy to wear, long- wearing blush that can is so simple, it can be applied using your fingers; actually it's ideal to use fingers when using this product!
5. PINK SUGAR SWEET CHEEKS HD BLUSH
- An affordable, pocketable blush line with universally flattering shades and great pigmentation.
That's all! Let me know your favorite blushes for everyday, ladies. :)
Happy Friday and stay awesome. :D

Also the blush/contour duo from Ever Bilena in baked Fig is just under Php 300 looks lovely on morena skin tone!
ReplyDeleteI think they are at 40% off right now. 😍
DeleteI haven't tried any of the blushes but for sure they are great blushes not just for morena skin only. My everyday go-to blush is the Essence blush in Baby Doll. They also have great selections of blushes.
ReplyDeleteJcat love struck glam glow is also a must try. It's my first time to try it. Na curious lng kasi ako sa brand that's why i headed to uptown mall to get some of their products. And so far na inlove n ako sa blush on nila kasi its so pigmented and long losting too. Plus ang cute nung cat glittery na design nya 😊 I cant remember exactly ung price but its around 300+ which is very affordable. I got the color 108 Sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteI too have a hard time complementing lipstick and blushes. One thing I do is that I use lipstick as blush and since I'm oily skinned I top it off with powder blush in the almost the same shade. Anyway, Catrice mosaic is perfect to complete any lipstick in my collection ;)
ReplyDeleteI would love to try the Catrice blush :)
ReplyDeleteOhhhh. What a helpful post! Been hunting for a good blush that will maych morena skin. I have the supershock cheeks and didn't know that it is more recommended to use fingers. Kaya pala!
ReplyDeleteYay! sobrang helpful nitong review mo. Martha! I would love to try Catrice Blush! kakainlove yung color and based sa post mo, Top #1 sya. super worthy and najustify ung prize nya! 😂😄
ReplyDeleteHaiya! I recommend #4 on your list. I used Colourpop Super Shock Cheek during my OJT days, left me looking fresh all day. As in! Then I also used #5 during my events, its a pigmented blush perfect for those who don't do/wear makeup most of the time. Its so pigmented you can wear it also as an eye shadow. (Natuto sa make-up artist hihi).
ReplyDeleteMilani blushes are also great! I tried Luminoso and Rose 'D Oro. Super gorgeous on morena skin.
ReplyDeleteDuring summer, I get tanned and I love how it emphasize my morena skin even more. For blush, I normally use Clinique Cheek Pop in Ginger Pop. For added warmth on my skin. It looks nice for work and night outs too. Something that goes well with most of my MAC lippies including velvet teddy, mehr, twig and burnt spice is the mac blush in harmony. Can be used as a soft shading too! Leaning on the drugstore brand, Ever Bilena Single Blush ons are quite good too. Their best sellers are Fig and Peony. It give just the right amount of color on cheeks though it is not long lasting on my combination skin.
ReplyDeletei have tried the sleek blush (one that comes with highlighter and contour) it reminds me of blush i had from Mary Kay! it looks very natural on skin!
ReplyDeletei like the one from BYS too (contour trio)
As far as I could remember the last thing I put on my face on a regular basis is the lip and cheek tint from Careline way back in college. But when I became part of the workforce I rarely use blush on my cheeks kasi I had breakouts on my cheek area most of the time. But I am thinking of undergoing facial that will really bring my face back to a clear one. haha. Para I will have no fear in wearing make up.
ReplyDeleteI like to try Catrice and Sleek Makeup. Thanks sa list Ms M.
ReplyDeleteI love my Milani Baked Blush. It's around 400 pesos from online sellers. :)
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think of this post! :)
