THE VERDICT:
Just got back from an amazing wedding weekend! I'm almost done sharing photos, tips, and what went down in my wedding and I hope you're all learning something from me that you can use in your own wedding or share with wedded-to-be friends.
For my comeback post, here's one of the highly- requested reviews ever since I blogged about my L.A. Girl beauty bag and event. Presenting L.A. Girl Pro HD Line, a foundation line that deserves all the rave! Read on for my review!
WHAT IS IT?
L.A. Girl Pro HD line is a range comprised of foundation, concealer, primer, and powder; it's one of the highly raved drugstore face lines in the U.S. because a lot swear by its full, lasting coverage; some would even say it's comparable to Make Up For Ever's Ultra HD Foundation.
PRO Prep HD Smoothing Primer ingredients
This is a clear silicone primer that feels light and non- clogging on the skin; it is unscented and feels a bit more matte than Smashbox Photofinish Primer; it is more of a smoothing than an oil- controlling primer.

Consistency is slightly runny and yields medium to full coverage; finish is semi- matte; it has no scent and spreads out evenly and nicely; you can use a sponge or brush with it, but if you prefer fuller coverage, go for a brush; it has good pigmentation as I find that I can get away without using a corrector and concealer with it when I use two full layers; it sets into a semi- matte finish. Nude Beige is a warm beige with a yellow undertone and Soft Honey is a medium dark beige with a peach undertone; I use Nude Beige.
PRO Face HD Matte Pressed Powder

I am using Nude Beige for this product. The foundation has a powder counterpart in the shade range, but I noticed that the powder tends to lean a bit darker. That said, if you find a certain foundation too light for you, go for your close match with the powder to come up with an almost accurate shade match and vice versa.
This powder has pretty good oil control too.
The powder has a silky texture and medium to full coverage. If you have a lot of discolorations to cover, go for the foundation + powder duo!

HOW IS IT? ARE THE PRODUCTS EFFECTIVE FOR OILY AND BLEMISHED SKIN?

Overall, the products are generally easy and nice to use: the products last long, give me the daily coverage I need, and I can say that these can be my go to when I run out of/can't afford at the moment my favorite luxury face products.
I'm loving the coverage Pro Coverage foundation gives that I do think it's a good alternative to MUFE's HD Foundation; I still love MUFE's Ultra HD Foundation and I'd go for it in a heartbeat, but to budget beauties who want a lightweight foundation with good coverage, not to mention looks good in person and photos, I would recommend this. Also, PRO Coverage foundation does not contain SPF so it won't yield a white cast in photos. I just hope that more shades will be introduced soon, but I'm happy to report to my fellow morenas that we have good options in this range!
As for wear time, it does stay the whole day provided that you prep your skin and use a primer; coverage lasts with minimal fading on combination oily/normal skin.
If there's one downside, it's that formula doesn't have too much of a smoothing effect so you definitely need PRO Prep Smoothing Primer if you are dealing with facial bumps. Other than this minor caveat, I love this foundation overall!
The hype with this complexion line of LA Girl is real and I recommend the foundation and concealer!

Blooming na blooming po kayo Ms. Martha at as usual napakaganda ng flatlay.Gusto ko yung primer hihihi. At overall ganda po ng coverage. Will try to use my BB creams and CC cream from Sol In touch since my face is currently healing and is no longer full of pimples.

ReplyDeleteNever tried LA Girl pero super ganda daw ng concealer nila. Bet ko din yung foundation, ang ganda ng packaging and mukhang ok sya. Gusto ko itry yung concealer nila. 😊😊😊

ReplyDeleteLove the concealer. Ever since i start doing my makeup (as in full on), this is what i use. Havent found a better drugstore brand with such a cheap price. Loreal concealer true match is good butttt kinda expensive. ��
