THE VERDICT:

When Box of Crayons ishadow palette came out on the Internet via a swatching video, the Internet went crazy over it! It's like the perfect childhood memory trigger for makeup lovers because it reminds us of crayons...but now in a grown- up, makeup lover version.

Of course I had to order one! Let's find out what the hype is all about!

The Crayon Case is a whimsical brand inspired by school supplies; pretty neat concept if you're gonna ask me!

I'm happy that the ordering process went smoothly. However, I wish that the products were secured properly: the palette was bubble wrapped but placed in a box without enough filler that's why at least two of the eyeshadows almost cracked, but thank goodness they didn't. That goes to show that the eyeshadows are pressed well on the pan or maybe I'm just lucky!

Ingredients

Box of Crayons is an 18-pan eyeshadow palette that's mostly bold colors, but there are neutrals as well. The palette has a mix of metallic and matte finishes.

The palette is a hard glossy cardboard that's HUGE! Definitely not travel- friendly, but I appreciate the large mirror embedded in it!

Top to bottom: Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, Black, Brown, Orange, Violet, Baby Blue, Purple, Pink Tan

L-R: Magenta, White, Silver, Gold, Deep Plum, Lime Green

Now that's what you call pigment! Some of the shades, I only swatched once while the others, twice, to get this intense pigment payoff. A lot said that this palette is not pigmented and rather chalky, but that is not my experience; in general, pigmentation is pretty good and the powder texture is uniformly smooth! However, there is fallout for some of the metallic shades like Blue, Magenta, Baby Blue, Violet, and Purple.

Washable Eye Glue Stick Primer ingredients

From the get-go, it's easy to confuse this product with an actual glue so if you have kids or young ones around, keep it away from them; otherwise, they may think this is actual glue haha!

For 10USD, it's a lot of eyeshadow primer. It's a light cream with a slightly tacky finish, which is what helps keep eyeshadow intact. It also has a light beige hue to even out any discoloration on the lids to help the eyeshadow colors come out more vivid and truer.

Despite the texture, eyeshadows go on smoothly with no drag on top of the primer--you just have to allow it to dry for a minute. A little goes a long way with this primer!

There are endless ways to enjoy this eyeshadow palette. The reason why I got this is I've been meaning to have a go-to palette that features colorful eyeshadows and Box of Crayons fits the bill. I like that the colorful shades in here are what I have in mind, especially Blue--it's a bright, cobalt blue, a shade that I've been looking for for the longest time now!

I wouldn't say it's a necessity because heck, who will use eyeshadows this colorful on a daily basis? But if you are a makeup artist, cosplayer, or someone who needs to use colorful eyeshadow frequently, this can be a good purchase for you.
