If you recall, I blogged about the Benefits of Borage Oil last month just because I have been curious about it and have finally found a supplement called Blooming G. I tried it for a month and I’m going to share my results plus I’m also giving away Blooming G samples to all of you!

Blooming G is by Lo-Ar Pharmaceutical Co., a local FDA- registered pharmaceutical company. Blooming G contains a high dose of Borage Oil from the Borage plant. What makes Borage Oil special is it contains a high dose of Gamma Linoleic Acid (GLA) that is critical to cell renewal and skin hydration.

Before giving away samples, I made sure to try the products myself because I wouldn’t want to give away something I don’t like or use! Now after a month, I’m confident to say that this stuff works and I am more than glad to let each and every one of you try the wonders of Borage Oil.

Let me share my experience:

MY SKIN CONDITION: Dull, dry, and experiencing hormonal acne.

THE BEGINNING: Before starting, I made sure that I am clear to take this supplement; it is important to note that before taking Borage Oil and any supplement in general, you should be aware of its contraindications and take into consideration your current health condition.

First, let me talk about the product. Blooming G comes in a Licaps hard gelatin capsule by Capsugel France. To be honest with you, I am a bit iffy with taking supplements, unless they’re in gel capsule form; supplements in hard tablet form are hard to swallow and make me gag, and it’s not always a pleasant experience that’s why all of my supplements are in gel form; this is why I have been very open in the beginning to trying out Blooming G.

Blooming G has a strong odor that is similar to Fish Oil supplements (that’s why it’s compared to Fish Oil supplements), but it doesn’t have any taste nor after taste. Whew!

I took the supplement for 1 month straight and here’s my experience:

1. I was informed by Blooming G that users may see effects in the first two weeks of usage. True enough, I did and that is my skin looked a bit more hydrated. I have been having a dry skin issue lately due to stress and my brand new, why-are-you-super-cold air conditioner and my skin care’s been struggling to keep it moist and hydrated. When I introduced Blooming G into my routine, it helped and boosted the benefits of my hydration- centric skin care.

2. There were some supplements I took in the past that didn’t mix well with my body chemistry. Like when I tried taking Magnesium supplement, I was having episodes wherein I’d feel a little dizzy so I stopped. I specifically observed what I was feeling a few days after I started taking Blooming G and I’m happy to report that it didn’t have any unfavorable physical side effects, at least with me.

3. I took Blooming G together with Vitamin C. No negative effects experienced.

4. I was having a pretty bad breakout in the form of whiteheads and cystic acne before taking the supplement; I knew it was hormonal because I am approaching my red days. Blooming G didn’t specifically mention that it can help with acne, but three weeks after taking the supplement, the whiteheads just disappeared and occurrence of cystic acne was minimized to zero. Borage Oil helps the reproductive system and this could be one of the effects and I’m very pleased with it!

5. Regarding the reproductive system again, let me tell you a bit about my period: It’s VERY irregular: I have it every two to three months, sometimes four if I’m overly stressed, plus I’m also into weightlifting, which also affects the reproductive cycle (Hello, Amenorrhea!). As of this writing, I now have my period and in my assessment, I’m not yet due until the next month or two. Wow! Maybe Blooming G has had a direct effect on it!

6. My skin is plump and looking extra hydrated. My husband even told me one time that my skin looks so pretty! ~blush~

Yup! I'm blooming!

I’ve been using it for one month only and the results have been very good that I’m going to continue taking Blooming G.

Some reminders before trying out Blooming G:

- Do not take if you are pregnant or breast- feeding.
- Do not take 2 weeks before a surgery or if you have bleeding disorders as Borage Oil may induce bleeding.
- Seek medical advice before usage if you have liver disease
- Always consult your doctor before taking any supplement.
