The Face Shop Ink Lasting Foundation: Dupe for Nars All Day Luminous Foundation?

THE VERDICT:

Nars All Day Luminous Foundation is one of the best foundations 5ever. However, price is a bit steep and I found a good alternative in The Face Shop's new Ink Lasting Foundation; this one is a force to reckon with when it comes to staying power and consistency is almost similar to Nars' famous foundation!

Ink Lasting Foundation promises a pigmented yet light formula that stays put for hours. It has SPF 30 PA++ and comes in liquid foundation and cushion compact form for touch ups. There are about 4 shades available locally, I believe.

The darkest shade available locally is Natural Beige 203. Consistency and pigmentation is quite like ink: light and almost watery, but very pigmented (you'll see below). It is unscented and spreads very easily due to its consistency. It sets efficiently too. The liquid foundation comes in a semi- frosted glass with a controllable pump; good packaging all in all.

The cushion compact foundation almost has the standard consistency: light cream with a pigmented finish, but Ink Lasting's version feels even lighter yet pigmentation is still great. You can use the cushion compact on its own or as a retouching product.

I applied one layer on the left side of my face. See how the foundation has managed to significantly correct my skin tone? Yeah, I'm shookt too, just like you. Another great thing is it looks just like skin, but better. As for the shade, the darkest shade is too light for me.

TBJ TIP: This product is best applied with a slim foundation brush or silisponge; I would not recommend a regular makeup sponge or fluffy foundation brushes because it will thin out the coverage.

Coverage is full and finish is soft matte. It feels weightless on the skin! As for staying power, makeup looks 60-70% fresh the entire day and t-zone oils up after 5 or 6 hours; pretty impressive! 

How is it similar to Nars All Day Luminous Foundation? Both have a lightweight, watery cream texture, medium to full coverage, easy to use formula, and long- lasting effect; Nars has just longer staying power and better shade options, but if you find a shade in The Face Shop's Ink Lasting Foundation, luck you!

This foundation is great for commuting, for oily skin, blemished skin, or anyone who just dislikes retouching. This is one of the best Korean foundation formulas I've encountered and I hope next time, there are shades for morenas like me.
