THE VERDICT:

In today's edition of Wayne Goss Made Me Buy It (LOL), he influenced me once again to purchase what he dubs as "one of Nars' most amazing foundations", All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. The last Nars foundation I tried was the Firming Foundation and it was a long, long time ago so I don't really remember the general quality of Nars foundations like I do MAC, Bobbi Brown, and Estēe Lauder to name a few, but after trying this, I think all of Nars's foundations are amazing! This is one of the best soft matte, lightweight, long- lasting foundations I have tried!

All Day Luminous Foundation is a highly pigmented full coverage foundation in a breakthrough sheer formula. Promises to last for up to 16 hours and comes in 20 shades.

Product comes in a frosted glass bottle with a pump dispenser. How convenient!

Formula is a runny liquid that's spreadable, lightweight, and feels sheer; you might be thinking how come this foundation, despite the sheer formula, can deliver full coverage; the answer lies in its high concentration of pigments. Product is unscented.

I noticed that the formula tends to separate so before using this product, give it a tough shake to mix the pigments and liquid properly.

One con I noticed is Nars' foundations tend to be either fair or dark; there are little to no options for in- between skin tones like mine; I am in between Stromboli and Syrcause, and both are lighter and darker for me, respectively. I went for Syracuse in the end because I figured I'll get darker any way due to my upcoming hiking and beach trip. Syracuse is a medium dark shade with yellow undertone.

Nars said in their website that you only need a drop to make this foundation work and they weren't kidding! Because of the formula and failure to read prior reviews and tips, I pumped out a ton the first time I tried it and ended up with intense coverage; just a full pump per cheek and half a pump for the forehead, nose, philtrum, and chin, and you're good to go! For those with more marks to cover, you may need a bit more, but I definitely think you'll use generally less compared to the other foundations you might be using.

The foundation sets efficiently and to a dewy matte finish; I could still see skin peeping through the coverage. I love the full yet breathable coverage it gives and true enough, it is weightless!

To set this powder, I use Coty Airspun Extra Coverage Translucent to lighten the shade for a bit.

After 10 hours...SHOOKT

I wore this the first time to a day filled with events and I intentionally did not retouch the whole time. I commuted, perspired a lot, and stayed in a warm place for one event and lo and behold, the foundation stayed! Just a bit of oil seeping through, no creasing, no fading, and no flaking! Despite the lasting, matte finish, it did not give me that dry look because of Dimethicone, a known emollient. Dimethicone is first on the ingredients list, meaning there is a considerable concentration of it in the formula, so test it first before purchasing.

If I had three thumbs, I'd give this foundation a three thumbs up; it's THAT good! I love how it's long- lasting and full coverage, yet manages to stay and look light on the skin! I can't believe I'll say this, but step aside for a little, Kat Von D Lock It Foundation, this is my favorite now!
