THE VERDICT:
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder is one of those makeup products that may take you a lot of convincing, but once you go for it, you'll be very satisfied with the purchase because it's one of those things that add that final "oomph" to your look. I use my Radiant Light Ambient Powder almost everyday and I love how it balances my look, especially since I love wearing full coverage foundation.
Now I have another Ambient Lighting Powder (yay!) and it's one of the most popular shades, Diffused Light. I mentioned in the REVIEW that these powders have a special feature of their own and that is they mimic different light sources to flatter skin. So, how does Diffused Light fare?

L: Diffused Light trial size R: Radiant Light regular size |
I got the travel- sized version of Diffused Light. In Sephora Brisbane, you'll see this a lot in the check- out bins by the counters and there are versions for Hourglass' blush too; I just think this is brilliant, not to mention super cute! Ambient Powder is one of those products that truly need a travel/trial version because A. it ain't cheap B. Effect is very subtle and best seen in person that's why it may take a lot of convincing; a trial version will ease consumers into the world of Ambient Lighting Powders without the looming hefty price tag.
It may be trial size, but you get all the chic look and feel of the regular versions of Ambient Lighting Powder; it's just like a shrunken version of the latter, really.
Diffused Light is a favorite of many Asian women because of its yellow undertone and natural brightening effect.
L: Diffused Light R: Radiant Light |
Diffused Light looks just like a colorless powder to me; the yellow undertone is barely showing because it's just light; it has golden micro shimmer.
Diffused Light all over my skin |
No kidding, I thought at first that this will look oddly light for my skin tone, but it turned out to be translucent; not a tinge of light left on my skin. If Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light gives me a sunny, tropical glow, this one gives me naturally- radiant skin, like I eat my veggies and fruits daily and drink 8 glasses of water a day LOL.
Diffused Light is more suited for daily use compared to Radiant Light because it is much more subtle and if you are new to Ambient Lighting Powders, this is the safest shade to pick, I think, because it's more universal. I think this will be my everyday Ambient Lighting Powder and Radiant Light will be for night time and summer!

ReplyDeleteHello, I’m thinking of buying this but not sure which shade to. I have light medium skin tone. I saw your review for Radiant Light and you look amazing but it looks too dark for my taste. The Diffused Light seems more my shade but from your pics it doesn’t look as glowy as Radiant Light.
