THE VERDICT:

Millennials always get a bad rap online for being too free, too woke, too demanding, too diverse, and too much of anything. As a Millennial, I'd like to say this is all but a characteristic of our generation; Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, they all had their quirks and collective descriptions, good or bad, too so I don't really get knee- deep into this kind of conversation. People will always have something to say about each other.

The beauty of being a Millennial is we signaled shifts in a lot of ways: mobile productivity, multi-tasking professionalism, micro entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and revolutionized workspace are just some of the few concepts that Millennials birthed and a lot of corporations, old and new, have found value in. However, there are also bad apples in the bunch; Millennials who are entitled, self- serving, and refuse to understand the value of hard work and time. But don't all generations have good and bad apples too?

Other generations can love us or leave us, but I am happy with my generation; we may be too much to some, but there's no denying that for once and finally, a generation has dared challenge old norms and cultures, and inspired change in many ways, changes that are benefitting a lot of generations in many ways too!

Why am I talking about Millennials all of a sudden? Because of this new favorite fragrance of mine, Abercrombie and Fitch Authentic EDT; Authentic is made with the Millennial Man and Woman in mind, and evokes a sense of adventure, freedom, and finding compromises in between.

Authentic is a new fragrance series by Abercrombie and Fitch. The inspiration behind the fragrance are Millennials themselves: bold, ambitious, free, and most of all, always in the pursuit of what makes them happy and authentic. The mixing of textures to create the flacon, glass, metal, paper, and textile, is like a symbol of the many passions that define the world of Millennials. The magnetic bottle closure is an allude to the Millennials' magnetic personality.

The bottle is pretty heavy; take note, I only have the 50ml bottle and it does put on some weight in the bag, but overall, the bottle looks androgynously pretty.

Let's go to the fragrance: Abercrombie and Fitch Authentic Woman is a floral-woody mix; top notes have pear, mandarin and red currant; heart notes have Magnolia, lily-of-the-valley, and nectarine; base notes have cedarwood, sandalwood, and ambrette seed.

The fragrance starts off as a bright, fresh floral with a slight musky, masculine note; a representative by Abercrombie and Fitch said that Authentic for Woman was intended to be this way for the Millennial Woman of any style preference to find something relatable in the fragrance, making it authentic.

I love the fresh-musky opening; it's energizing and pretty at the same time. Afterwards, the fragrance settles into a bright, lingering floral base that smells like white flowers and rose; I love it actually, but some may find it too floral and miss the duality and 'authentic Millennial' feel in the beginning of the fragrance; after all, it's still a perfume for women that's why it ends up the way it does. Sillage is very high and I find that this fragrance very long- lasting; it also effectively masks any odor, making me smell fresh again!

You just find one fragrance that suits your body chemistry and scent preference; Abercrombie and Fitch Authentic Woman is that fragrance for me at the moment. It's for the Millennial woman who's free- spirited, courageous, bold, ambitious, and of course, authentic.

Have you tried this fragrance already? What are your thoughts?
