THE VERDICT:

Carrots; one (if not the only) of the vegetables that I eat. I love having my carrots raw and dipped in blue cheese or a sweet/salty Asian dressing.

But did you know that a lot of carrots don't make it to supermarkets just because they are not aesthetically pleasing? This unsustainable way of consuming carrots is contributing significantly to one of our environmental problems, which is food waste. I've watched a documentary one time showing tons of carrots that go to waste even if they're just as good as pretty- looking carrots except they're crooked, bent, and uneven; in short, not pretty. I mean...WHY?

To help fight food waste, The Body Shop decided to adopt these wonky Carrots and turn them into awesome skin care that fights dullness and instantly makes skin look energized!

The Body Shop's Carrot range has been around, but this time, it's made better than ever because it helps reduce waste by utilizing carrots that are deemed not physically fit for selling.

Carrot Cream ingredients

This daytime moisturizer promises up to 72 hours of hydration and helps protect skin from daily aggressors. Made with 97% ingredients from natural origin, vegan, and packaging is recyclable.

Carrot Wash ingredients

Carrot Wash promises to cleanse, purify, and energize skin while leaving it feeling moisturized. Made with 93% ingredients from natural origin, vegan, and packaging is recyclable.

Carrot Cream has a citrusy fragrance and light cream consistency. It is a lightweight moisturizer, but doesn't feel short of being hydrating and moisturizing. It gets absorbed quickly, doesn't leave any residue, and the slight peachy tone helps even out the skin.

Similarly, Carrot Wash has a citrusy fragrance as well and a gel-cream consistency. It lathers just right without the use of SLES and doesn't dry out the skin after use; it rinses out easily as well.

Instantly, my skin looks and feel refreshed, and livelier; this is why I love using this wash in the morning; it livens up my complexion and removes grime and excess skin care I have used the night before, resulting to fresh, glowing skin. The cream gives instant moisture and keeps my skin soft and moisturized the entire day.

Overall, this is a pleasant, everyday skin care line that's perfect for normal, oily, and moderately dry skin types; it's basic skin care with a carrot twist. One great reason why I'll endorse this range aside from the good performance of the products is the mission behind it and that is to reduce food waste.
