And just when I thought 2020 would be completely bad, it turned around completely because one of the most awaited events of me and the TBJ Beshies of the year has finally pushed through. It has been a long, emotional journey: from ups and downs, sadness, hope, frustration, and anxieties yet we have triumphed over everything and TBJ 11th Mega Anniversary has materialized. Let's do a flashback this Friday and reminisce the wonderful highlights of the biggest celebration of The Beauty Junkee and TBJ Beshies this year!
The event opened to a "lobby" where my team and I showcased the videos of our sponsor brands. It was also an opportunity for the TBJ Beshies, old and new, and the viewers who just learned about me for the first time to gather, have a quick chat, and introduce themselves to each other.By 2PM, a countdown has commenced to give enough time to my guests to settle down before the show.
And the show begins! A day before the show, I was thinking or not whether I should write a speech or just talk from the heart; I decided to go for the latter and boy, did I cry! I was just so overwhelmed with an amalgam of emotions I was having on the day of the show; it was a mix of happiness, glory, and also, disbelief that the event has finally happened despite the odds; I was also filled with so much gratitude to the TBJ Beshies because they have supported this anniversary despite the financial burden brought upon everyone by the pandemic and my vision to make the world and our society a better place through donations.
The first part of the talk was all about my best quarantine beauty finds from the sponsoring brands. I've highlighted here products that helped me combat maskne, stress, and makeup that became my zoom/livestream/online meeting favorites.
Our sponsors: Revlon Philippines, Wet N Wild Philippines, Glupa, Essence Philippines, Jordana Philippines, The Body Shop Philippines, Burt's Bees Philippines, K-Palette Philippines, Strip It!, Hada Labo Philippines, Pink Sugar, Moringa O2, Niks Skin Enterprise, BYS Philippines, Belle De Jour Power Planner, Ready Set Glow, Esfolio Philippines, Zen Zest, and EB Advance
The concept of the talk is ZENFEST; it has always been Zenfest when I was still conceptualizing it last year; it just so happened that it became so relevant this year.
Zenfest is all about finding balance, peace, and positivity in life not just this pandemic, but starting today. It has been a goal of mine for years now to become more mindful with my actions, for my mind to be more in tune with my heart, and to strengthen my inner peace and I figured that Zenfest would be a great avenue for me to improve on all these aspects and also, the TBJ Beshies who are in the same journey as me.
The first talk is by Reiki Master Healer, Tarot Card Reader, Astrologist, and Spirituality Blogger, Krish Rai. She talked about Mindful Wellness through Meditation. I've been trying to do meditation, but couldn't seem to give it time or just be more diligent doing it. This talk has inspired me to get back on the meditation track again.
Krish has provided great insight on meditation, discussed its benefits very well, and shared how it has helped her personally to make the idea more relatable, especially for those who were new to it.

The second talk was about Journal Therapy by Darlyn Ty- Nilo, founder of Belle De Jour, Darlyn has discussed the benefits of writing down your goals, dreams, desires, or something as simple as your thoughts to help you manage your emotions, sort out your thoughts, inspire your next actions, and even get to know yourself better. Dar has discussed very well the benefits of journal therapy and I loved that she shared the science behind it and how it can help maintain brain health and mental sharpness when done regularly!
Darlyn does talks on journal therapy and other journaling exercises so just visit BELLE DE JOUR on Facebook to inquire.
On to one of the main reasons behind the TBJ 11th Mega Anniversaries: the charity portion.
This year, I chose Hineleban Foundation as this celebration's beneficiary. The Beauty Junkee together with the TBJ Beshies have donated 150 native trees that will be used to reforest 1,400 square meters of land in the mountain area of Bagalangit, Kalug, Bukidnon.
The inspiration behind my choice of beneficiary for the year is the grueling summer that we had this year; it was crazy hot despite the significant decrease in greenhouse gas- inducing activities and this just goes to show that the Earth has indeed gotten hotter and one way that will help mitigate global warming is planting more trees. I am happy that somehow, we were able to help accelerate this race towards saving Mother Earth in our own, simple way.
To cap off the celebration, a mega giveaway took place where I gave away 30 prizes ranging from beauty products, GCs, to cash to the VIBs of the anniversary. The VIBs winners were so happy!
Here are the VIBs and their beauty bags! Everybody loved how I curated the beauty bags; I made sure each bag had a good range of skin care and makeup products!
And that's a wrap! All I ever felt that day was gratitude for this event has finally happened with the help of everyone involved: my family, the brands, my amazing support team courtesy of Digify Marketing Solutions Corporation, the team who helped me arrange the broadcast from concept to execution, and the TBJ Beshies.
I've said it in so many posts related to this, but I'll say it again: THANK YOU SO MUCH, TBJ BESHIES. Thank you for making me believe in myself again. Thank you for making this happen. Thank you for making me realize the big lesson for this year and that is NO MATTER HOW HARD THINGS ARE ON YOU, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ENOUGH KINDNESS THAT YOU WILL FIND IN THE WORLD.
Maraming salamat. Mahal ko kayo, TBJ Beshies, my online family. :)
