THE VERDICT:
Those who are steeped in the world of makeup are very much aware of Viseart, one of the unicorn eyeshadow palettes dubbed as one of the best professional eyeshadow palettes and a favorite of many makeup artists. Viseart belongs to the luxury category in cosmetics due to its price point (would you believe they have an eyeshadow palette priced at P12,000? (approximately 244USD) and it's much more discreet compared to brands that go all out on marketing such as MAC, Huda Beauty, and Anastasia Beverly Hills. Viseart is like that little luxury secret, quietly expanding its influence in the beauty community and remains committed to quality. If the other brands I've mentioned are the LVs and Pradas of the makeup world, Viseart is your Goyard-and the comparison is rightfully so because Viseart is a French beauty brand too!
I've always wanted to own a Viseart palette, but it took me a long time thinking about whether I should go for it or not just because...the price. I just learned that Viseart has smaller, much more affordable palettes so I went for that instead and took home Viseart Dark Edit palette last month.
Man, all I can say is if you want to try one of the smoothest matte eyeshadows and vibrant, true metallic eyeshadows on planet Earth, you should get a Viseart palette.
Ingredients
Viseart Dark Edit is envisioned to be a travel- sized version of their 12 eyeshadow palettes. Dark Edit is inspired by Baroque colors and features shades from the Dark Mattes, Grand Pro 02, and Absinthe and Siren palettes. It's a little bit of everything and I like that it's a downsized version of the regular; just smaller in size, but still has the same quantity; it has enough selections for me to play around with looks and textures, and experience what the brand has to offer. It's a great starter palette if you want to know if Viseart is for you and to really know if it's truly legendary or not.
I like the soft matte texture of the palette and the magnetic closure located at the back; the palette feels really secure. The palette looks really classy.
Another thing I love about the packaging is the plastic film goes all the way to the side of the main palette. Those flat plastic films really irk me and I hate how they would always slip out of the palette and accidentally slice the eyeshadows and ruin the surface even before I get to use them. This configuration by Viseart, my friends, is gold.
As far as I remember, there are other mini palettes available, but I gravitated more towards Dark Edit because of the color story and that unique electric violet shade; I'm currently missing that from my collection. Also, these are beautiful accent shades that can spice up any neutral eyeshadow palette.
Man, these eyeshadows are BUT-T-E-R-R-E-Y! I've tried butter- textured eyeshadows before, but this one takes that description to a whole new level. It's super silky, super smooth, and super fine, but the amazing part is despite the softness, fall out is minimal and color coverage is even in the first application, thus minimal blending is needed every time. The powders blend beautifully as well and it's so easy to create gradient and ombre looks even if you're a newbie!
A lot said that Viseart's matte eyeshadows are superior; it's true that their matte eyeshadows have really good quality-it's some of the smoothest, easies-to-blend matte eyeshadows I have ever come across, but I think their metallic eyeshadows are more superior. As one TBJ Beshie has put it in THE BEAUTY JUNKEES UNITE! beauty group, (please join click the link!) the colors of the metallic eyeshadows don't get lost in the shimmer and I agree with this! Some metallic eyeshadows would often be diluted with shimmer or come off as a slightly different color on the skin compared to the one on the pan just because the shimmers affect the payoff, but with Viseart's metallic eyeshadows, they're literally metallic versions of the colors! To further describe what I mean, take a look at the shade Buillon: it doesn't look like gold with shimmer, it literally looks like gold!

You don't need primer for the colors to appear beautifully and accurately on your skin because as I have mentioned, color payoff is really good. It also took a bit of rubbing to remove the eyeshadows, but I would still suggest that you use an eye primer to make 'em last longer.
TBJ TIP: The matte eyeshadows are so silky and pigmented, you can use them as makeshift colored eyeliners!
I enjoyed this palette so much because the colors are really good and the quality is superb; so this is why makeup artists love this eyeshadow brand so much and why a lot of makeup lovers would say that they thought they have tried good eyeshadow until they have tried Viseart.
But is it better than some of the popular and more affordable brands such as MAC, Huda Beauty, and Anastasia Beverly Hills to name a few?
Thing is, these brands have good eyeshadows too and comparing them with Viseart, the latter is just a bit more superior in terms of ease of usage and blend-ability. Now if you're only looking for great pigmentation and range of colors, and don't mind a bit of work in terms of blending and mixing, you can opt for other brands; but if you want those plus a virtually smart eyeshadow that can almost blend itself and needs very minimal effort to work with just because of the super fine quality, then spend a bit more for Viseart.
