THE VERDICT:
The secret to maintaining healthy hair even if you color it frequently is making sure that you treat it after.every.coloring.session; it's what a lot of hair experts and estheticians have been telling me consistently after having my hair colored in a salon.
In- salon treatment is very effective, but thing is, it's quite expensive especially if your hair is the type that needs frequent maintenance. My hair is a bit like this after every coloring session: it needs to be treated around 4-5 times consistently to eradicate dryness and stiffness; yup, that's fine hair for you!
My solution? At- home hair care treatments. Thank goodness for these affordable, at- home Keratin treatments that have become very popular lately! One good brand that I have tried lately is Argan Beauty Hair Mask and Keratin Daily Treatment, affordable hair treatment products for post color or anytime you feel like giving your hair some TLC.
Argan Beauty Keratin Daily Treatment and Hair Mask are by Great Lengths, the same company that has brought IColor Shampoo- In Hair Color, one of my best hair color finds for the year.
Argan Beauty Hair Mask comes in four variants: Anti-Hair Fall (with Vitamin B7 and Aloe Vera), Color Protect (with Keratin and Lavender Oil), Intense Hair Fall (with Vitamin B5), and Healthy Hair (with Vitamin E). All variants are infused with Argan Oil. Each sachet comes with two individually- packed masks that are good for 2 showers.
Keratin Daily Treatment is a conditioner treatment that can be used everyday. It comes in 4 variants: Intense Repair, Color Protect, Anti-Hair Fall, and Healthy Hair. Formula is infused with Argan Oil and Keratin.
The products have a lovely perfume- like fragrance; more on the floral side, but it doesn't smell annoying or cloying. The products have a rich, cream texture and to make the most of one sachet, I would add a few drops of water to sheer out the texture so I can cover a huge area with just one sachet.
Here's my post- colored hair and I used Color Protect Hair Mask to rinse out the dye and Keratin Treatment in Color Protect and Healthy Hair variants for one straight week after. The result is softer hair and more vibrant color, as if my hair has been given great treatment and care. I also use it twice a week to keep my hair soft and to prevent split ends. I just wish that next time, the products will come in a tube instead of sachet.
It's not the treatment that you'll definitely get from the salon, but good enough to restore, protect, and nourish your hair, especially nowadays when it's risky to go out and everyone's trying to pinch their pennies; that's why affordable, good products like Argan Beauty Keratin Treatment and Hair Mask are very much appreciated at this time!
