THE VERDICT:
I must admit that the funny name of the product caught my attention. And the fact that it's a make-up primer in a packaging reminiscent of the colorful and fun packaging by Benefit is one of the reasons that justified my purchase.
I was kinda' missing my Never Let Them See You Shine facial primer by Philosophy. It's the lightest primer I've ever used and it practically does wonders if not for its too creamy consistency. It's too creamy, which makes me think that it will have a hard time mattifying my face. But at least, it does its job. And I'm missing the divine smell of this primer too!
Unfortunately, I cannot find the primer in any Beauty Bar branches I've been to recently. The only product that the stores are carrying is the facial wash from the said line.
Then here comes Etude House with their latest whimsical offering, Goodbye Pore Ever.
Well, that face thingy on the box is really cute. Koreans really have a knack for creating interesting and cute packaging.
The consistency is cream to silicone. It's like a combination of my NLTSYS by Philosophy and Smashbox's Photofinish Primer. It moisturizes (due to the creamy consistency) and mattifies the skin later on (due to the silicone consistency). I like the fact that it doesn't feel too heavy on the skin unlike silicone primers, and it's not too liquid-y unlike my NLTSYS by Philosophy. Goodbye Pore-ever is a perfect combination of the two.
It glides on without any color and it is absorbed by the skin quickly. My face still oils up during wear, but I have observed that it's not too shiny as compared to my face sans make- up primer.
Overall, I would recommend this to people with oily skin. However, do not expect that this will keep your face matte all throughout the day. You may need to retouch once or twice during wear, as sebum production in your facial skin is natural. This primer makes make- up application easier because it smoothens the canvass, and it keeps at least 50% of your facial sebum locked within the pores to keep your make-up from running and fading. And for it's price, it truly is worth it, not to mention you'll only need a little to cover your entire face. A pea- sized drop for every cheek, and half a pea- size amount will be good enough for the nose, chin, and forehead.

IVE WANTED TO BUY THIS BEFORE
ReplyDeleteDr oil dual anti shine primer works great at keeping my face matte all day. It even keeps my face shine free all day under BB cream which makes my face oily only a couple of hours from application. I've just read this now cause I was hoping to buy the stick one to cover my pores for a more smooth finish over my anti shine primer..or maybe I'm just addicted to make up shopping :))
ReplyDeletenyxie: get it na dear! :D
ReplyDeleteJessica: If you're t-zone is oily, the stick one would be great for you. :) I bought this because it's easier to use. :) thanks for sharing! :)
Thanks. I have a sample of this and thought it was to fill in the pores. I didn't know it was to prevent over sebum production. No wonder my T zone was less oily when I wake up from naps lol
