THE VERDICT:
Last night, I browsed my old photos-particularly those taken during my college freshman years-in my laptop and all I ever did was either laugh or cringe at my makeup: it was either too white or my face looked as flat as a plain dinner plate. I almost wanted to edit everything in Photoshop haha! Oh, if only my Photoshop skills weren't limited!
But like what a friend said, "Let go, move on." At least I now know how to contour and highlight, two awesome makeup techniques that I'm glad were invented because they just give the face more depth-this reminds me that I have another contouring/highlighting kit in my collection called Feeling Sculptacular Face Contouring Kit by Happy Skin!
HAPPY SKIN FEELING SCULPTACULAR FACE CONTOUR KIT IN DETAIL
Happy Skin said that this non-silicone powder duo contains Neem Leaf extract that has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties that may help get rid of blackheads, whiteheads, and breakouts, making it suitable for oily, sensitive, and acne- prone skin, and Green Tea that provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. This product only comes in one shade combination called Brown.

The product comes with an extra flap where you insert the compact-the packaging is cute and conveniently comes with a contouring and highlighting cheat sheet.

Left: Contouring Powder
Right: Highlighting Powder
The contouring product in this product, in my opinion, is one of the best around because it's a neutral shade of brown and will most likely fit any skin tone-I absolutely like how it discreetly frames my face. The highlighter, on the other hand, is a slightly frosted cream champagne shade that's universally flattering as well-not so much into it though because I like my highlighters matte. The powders have medium to heavy coverage and have this nice, smooth, easy to blend texture.
HAPPY SKIN FEELING SCULPTACULAR FACE CONTOUR KIT IN ACTION
Two layers of the contouring powder
One layer of the highlighting powder on the bridge of my nose, apples, and center of the forehead
Wear time is great at 4 hours and then the coverage fades after that mark, although gradually. For P1,199.00, I wish that the pans were a little bigger because I use contouring powder heavily (but this is just me!). Overall, this is a no-brainer face definer because it comes with complimenting contouring and highlighting powder shades, but for me, I'd rather have the contouring powder because I like it so much-if they would change the frosted finish of the highlighter to matte, I'd gladly have both!

Aysst I want to learn how to contour... That sounds nice that it has neem leaf and green tea extract since I still have pimples. Why is that it looks yellowish? I found some reviews of the same product where it looks whiter. The contour looks nice in you.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it should be larger...
Happy skin products are really exceptional. Though I haven't bought this one yet since I also don't know how to contour. :/ I might buy this one when I'm ready to learn. I'm so afraid that I might waste my contouring powder so I never tried. :(
ReplyDeleteI must say it's worth the price pero sana mas larger pa para hindi naman nakakabitin. I am still in doubt if i should buy it or not kasi hindi naman ako marunong magcontour, hope you'll have contouring tutorials too hihih. I love it's packaging and you're so lucky kasi you have it for free. May I ask, ilang days or months usage niya? Thanks for this review!
ReplyDeleteTeri: Color is a creamy kind of white with a frosted finish. :) It has a pale yellow undertone too. :)
ReplyDeleteDarlene: Yup, I wish that the contouring powder will come in a much bigger, separate pan in the future. :)
Abegaill: I have a tutorial on contouring so please check it out. :)
I'm still in the works of doing/putting my own make-up but hey, the next time I learned how to contour i'll make it a point to try this! :) #GoLoacal
ReplyDeletei think there are cheaper alternatives out there... i would skip on buying this because of that... but it is really convenient to have the highlight and contour in one palette...
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think of this post! :)
