As promised, here’s the follow- up and final
review on Safeguard Derma Sense Skin Care Line.
I’ve been using these products alternately for
three weeks now and I’m already through with the Acne Prone Facial Cleanser, my
favorite product in this range. For my first impression and thoughts on the
scent and texture of the featured products, please click HERE.
If you already read the first review and can’t
wait to see my results, just click READ MORE. ;)
Between the two lines, I’ve been using Acne Prone
more. I only used the Sensitive Skin variant consistently, specifically the
Face And Body Wash, during the height of Summer (that was around the last week
of April to the second week of May) and my Atopic Dermatitis. I found that this
body wash is perfect to use on irritated and sensitized skin because of its
mild formula, at least on my skin-in fact, I even think it helped alleviate my Atopic
Dermatitis! However, if you’re experiencing chronic and severe skin
irritations, please see a doctor before using these or any skin care products.
Now onto the Acne Prone line, my most favorite
between the two lines. Before I proceed with the review, I would like to inform
everyone that I only experience mild to moderate Acne-it’s very manageable and
I can do without the help of a dermatologist or medications 99% of the time. I
hope this will help manage your expectations with this line.
I digress. I only use the Acne Prone Face And
Body Wash occasionally and only if I have a pimple on my back (it works great
on back pimples, btw) because I find that it’s a bit drying to my skin--my big
brother loves it though! What I’ve been using more from the Acne Prone line is
the Facial Cleanser-I put it on a 3- week test and my conclusion is I love it.
Find out why below:
This is my skin 3 weeks before I used Safeguard
Derma Sense Acne Prone Facial Cleanser. As you can see, it looks good: It’s
healthy, clean, and no pimple sighting, although I had a few whiteheads on the
chin area-they’re not bothersome though.
A lot can happen to my skin in 3 weeks. Usually,
I get 3 or 5 huge zits every 3 to 4 weeks (or a full breakout if I’m unlucky),
depending on my day-to-day activities, diet, sleep, stress levels, and hormonal
activity.
When I put this Facial Cleanser to the test, I
stopped using other Salicylic Acid- based products to observe better if it will
really help me get rid of or manage Acne, but with the exception of spot
treatments.
So what happened to my skin after using the
Facial Cleanser for three weeks?
Here’s my skin 3 weeks after using Safeguard
Derma Sense Acne Prone Facial Cleanser: It still.looks.good. Eureka! During the
entire three weeks, I only got two or three new whiteheads and a blackhead, but
they went away in just two or three days. For the most part, my skin was
looking and feeling great-no irritating papules, pustules, cystic zits, and
most especially, NO BREAKOUT! Whoa! Oh, the whiteheads on my chin? GONE. Please
take note that when the whiteheads and blackheads appeared, I used a spot
treatment along with the facial cleanser to get rid of them much quickly, but I
feel that the latter played a big role in removing them completely.
In short, Derma Sense Acne Prone Facial Cleanser
helped me stay breakout- free!
So that concludes my skin journey with Safeguard
Derma Sense Skin Care Line. If you have mild to moderate Acne, I urge you to
try Acne Prone Facial Cleanser because it will help keep your skin virtually Acne-
free or aid you in managing existing Acne (otherwise, please see a
dermatologist). And if you want a body wash that goes beyond moisturizing, try
Sensitive Skin and Acne Prone Face And Body Wash! Acne Prone Facial Cleanser is
a bath staple for me now! :D

I am glad that Safeguard, our trusted brand on fighting germs has launched new products. My daughter uses the bodywash for kids and she doesn't smell "amoy pawis" even after sweating hard from playing outdoors. I am curious about the Acne Prone Facial Cleanser. Although acne has never been a big problem to me, i still get a couple of zits. Ms. Martha, can you tell if the Acne Prone Facial Cleanser can somehow manage sebum production?
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for this review since the day you've posted the first part. Haha. I really like this product. It didn't really remove much of my pimples and white heads but it somehow lessen it. And it's pretty affordable pa.
ReplyDeleteI'm only on my 3rd day of using this facial cleanser, and I've already noticed that my 4 zits are starting to heal. I also had a small zit on the upper right side of my lips that didn't develop. So far, I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteMy husband uses this complete range since you posted about this;) as I have said he is a safeguard loyal user. He loves it:)
ReplyDeleteLoved the acne prone facial wash too! I use it for maintenance mostly. The for sensitive skin is too mild for me so I gave it to my baby sister.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the body wash is great for bacne! I must recommend this to my officemate, she's suffering from bacne from her recent beach trip. Thanks martha!!
Gusto ko yung nakakatanggal ng bacne! I've been having those kapag napapawisan ako sa likod. :/ I'm now more interested to try the safeguard acne prone line. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been using the Safeguard Acne Prone cleanser for 3 months now and it has helped me a lot with my zit problem. I have sensitive skin aswell but this cleanser works perfectly fine with my skin. And it's affordable too.
ReplyDeleteMedyo dyahe aminin pero I have back acne (but a 95% acne-free face, so I guess you can't have everything!) and I've been looking for an afforable product to treat it. Celeteque's back acne spray is around P700 and that is waaay too expensive. I'm hoping Safeguard's Body Wash for Acne-Prone Skin will be the solution to this mess. :'(
ReplyDeleteWow, indeed your face looked brighter and clearer, Miss M! I also am using the Acne-Pro facial cleanser and I am totally loving it too! My brother uses it as well and though he went through the purging state for the first couple of days, his skin has become clearer as well. Super sulit!
ReplyDeleteJhake: Yes it can because of the moisturizing consistency :)
ReplyDeleteMommy and Jeremy: Yay! Glad to hear that! ::D
Jessy and abegaill: Hey, do let me know if it works for you. :) My suggestion is every time you'll use the product, let it sit for around 5 minutes before rinsing it off. ;)
Chalee: Agree! Safeguard did a really good job on this one. :)
Anne_22: You're welcome! Let me know how it works for your officemate. :)
Rizza: Woohooo! I don't know, but I'm feeling so happy reading all these positive reviews on this line. It's like I found a support group hahaha!
Kkumkugo: Thanks for the feedback. I think Safeguard should go ahead and create a toner and moisturizer too! :D
I love the acne-prone cleanser for the face, too! It's not easy to find a cream cleanser for acne-prone skin. Most cleansers catered to us are very drying.
ReplyDeleteGusto konpo sana bumili pero wala po ako mhanap dto sa drugstores sa amin.
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think of this post! :)
