THE VERDICT:

I will cut to the chase and say that I am not impressed with this product.

I appreciate the fact that it’s made up of natural ingredients, but there must be something wrong with the way the wax was cooked. For one, the consistency is too hard, and it’s defeating itself. If it's used in its cold, solidified state, a few rubbing can cause the wax to harden. I found out that this works better if heated in the microwave. BUT—if you leave it in the microwave for more than 15 seconds, it will melt, and the wax will be rendered useless.

So my advise, crank your microwave temperature to low, set the timer at ten seconds. And when you start to see the wax bubble up a bit, shut the microwave, and use kitchen mittens or pot holders to take the jar out, as the jar can be piping hot after heating.

CAUTION: The wax is very hot after heating. Let it cool down for a few minutes before using to prevent scalding.

Okay, so the consistency has softened a bit after I nuked it in the microwave. It worked better, but unfortunately, it did not take out a significant amount of hair from my pits. It is only inclusive of 3 strip cloths in the box, and they did not suffice. I had to use my excess waxing papers from Strip It! to finish my waxing session.

L-R: Nanny Rose and Strip It!

Check out how hard the texture of NR is compared to SI. SI spreads easily, is so easy to work with, and removes a considerable amount of strands in one stripping! NR wax, on the other hand, rolls up in a ball whenever I apply it on my pits.

If there is one thing I like about the product, it would be the stripping cloth. It’s made from Kacha. It works so well with Strip It!.

Nanny Rose is not that bad, and it’s not good either. If you don’t have hairy problems like me, this will work for you. But regardless if you’re hairy or not, THIS WAX WlLL ONLY WORK IF HEATED.

It’s not noob- friendly, and risky to use even by veteran waxing fans like me. Strip It! still remains unsurpassed for me. Nope, won’t buy this again in the meantime. But if Nanny Rose reformulates, why not?

ADDENDUM: Amanda Del Rosario, owner of Nanny Rose and I had a correspondence via email. She informed me that the jar of Nanny Rose Sticks and Pulls can be heated in the microwave. No need to transfer wax to a microwavable bowl. :)
