THE VERDICT:

A lot of Beauty Bloggers, international and local, would more or less say that Revlon is their favorite drugstore brand and I'm one of them! Anyhoo, They came out with these tiny, happy tubes of color aptly called Baby Stick. I dunno why, but Justin Bieber came to mind when I learned about the name of this product. Go figure. Haha! :D

REVLON BABY STICK FOR LIPS AND CHEEKS IN TAHITIAN, PINK PASSION, AND SUNSET IN DETAIL

Baby Stick, as implied, is a cream product to tint your lips and cheeks. It only comes in three shades and I'm swatching everything for you guys today. :)

Baby Stick comes in a handy twist- up tube. You can pop it in your purse, pocket, or clutch, this baby is ready to go anywhere with you. (And without demanding space!) This product totally reminds me of Eyeko's Fat Balm, my all- time favorite lip and cheek stick. :)

More about this product plus the swatches after the cut.

Ingredients

When I started swatching the products, I thought that I got an old stock or something so I tried warming 'em up by rubbing 'em for a couple of times on the back of my hand. Turned out that these Baby Sticks are way too sheer for my life-as in there's hardly any color coming out of the sticks. :( Tried looking for advice and application tips on other beauty blogs, but to no avail-almost everyone (including I) has the same reaction and experience. On very fair skin tones, however, the colors show up quite well, but still, they'd have to rub it on for at least 10 times.

These sticks feel quite creamy and are spreadable. There's no fragrance to it, except its natural cosmetic scent. Do they even matter? These sticks don't work. God knows how badly I want them to work because they're so cute! *sobs

REVLON BABY STICK FOR LIPS AND CHEEKS IN TAHITIAN, PINK PASSION, AND SUNSET IN ACTION

Tried it on my cheeks and my powder foundation caked like cray. Tried it before applying powder and it just disappeared. I therefore conclude, it's somewhat better used on the lips. Check out the swatches:

Sunset is a red-orange shade.

Pink Passion is a bright pink shade.

Tahitian is a light peach shade.

Out of the three, I find that Pink Passion has the most decent pigmentation. In fairness to these babies, they give off a very natural-looking tint, albeit formula tends to accentuate dry areas and aggravate dryness on very dry lips (like mine). To solve this, apply a lip balm on top or underneath or top off with a clear gloss for a petal- fresh look.

Revlon's a great cosmetic maker, really, but these babies didn't make it to the cut. There's always room for reformulation though. ;)

  1. I have one of these in Tahitian, I also thought mine's already expired since I can't see any color on my face, but it's really like that nga. Plus I hate the sticky feeling of it, parang may glue sa cheeks ko.. pero it's a nice concept. I just wish it's more pigmented and less icky feeling.

  3. Ohh my totally bad performance from Revlon here. I agree with you, I hope they do a reformulation. The packaging seems so nice pa naman very cute and handy. Thanks for the honest review Ms. Martha, at least we can steer clear of products like these that don't work well.

  4. Super cute!!! :) Mabilis ba matanggal yung cap like the ones in Just Bitten Kissable? I love JBK but the cap always gets cracks and messes up my bag :(

  5. I'm not a fan of cheeck tint so it's fine. I like the pink one as a lip tint though, but if it dries out the lips, then I'll pass. Don't really like the feeling of having lip balm. Hehe.

  10. I only have pink passion. Thank goodness I used testers. The other too are like untinted lip balms. At least I got pink passion to show up. Since I don't use a face base it's alright.
