 THE VERDICT:

Based on the ton of skin care- related queries I have received in my 6 years of Beauty blogging, I therefore conclude that combination dry-oily skin is the toughest skin type to deal with because: 1. It's an in between skin type. 2.) Almost all skin care products are either moisturizing (for dry skin) or mattifying (for oily skin); these factors leave dry-oily skin types with very little choices and room to explore; I'm surprised at this lack given that we've come a long way already in terms of skin care science.

Origins makes life a bit more varied and a lil' less tough for you, dry-oily skin types, with Checks And Balances Frothy Face Wash, one of the many multitasking products they have; this facial wash deep cleans and balances out dry-oily skin types.

ORIGINS CHECKS AND BALANCES FROTHY FACE WASH IN DETAIL

ORIGINS CHECKS AND BALANCES FROTHY FACE WASH IN ACTION

Checks And Balances is a rich facial wash that lathers into a frothy foam even with just a tiny amount; it's so fun to use, not to mention economical. It cleans really well and makes skin feel a bit squeaky clean, but not the irritating kind. The minty, fresh fragrance it has soothes my senses, although you could really tell that it has fragrance to it so test it first if you have any known allergies to fragrance ingredients. I experienced zero breakout with this product.

I love using this product when I'm scrubbing my face either with Exfoclear or Mary Kay Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush because its rich, soft texture provides a light, protective action between the scrubbers and my skin; it sorta' helps me control the damage every time I scrub my skin. I'd still recommend that you moisturize after using this product most especially if you have severe dry skin as the Spearmint extract may have a slight drying effect to the skin.

Checks and Balances keeps my dry areas tamed and my oily areas fresh all while giving me skin that's more than ready to hit the sack!

  1. I've just had my hands on Origin's Clear Improvement mask and so far so good! I am almost out of my aztec clay mask, maybe only one to two uses left(me and my sister finished the whole thing! It lasted forever. O_o). Makes me want to try out more products from Origins but I am not to keen on spending too much on cleansers. This is a bit pricey for a cleanser. Maybe if I can get a sample I can decide whether or nit this is worth the splurge. Hmm. Thanks for this post!

    1. YOu're welcome! I think they have sachet samples; you might want to ask if they have a sample of this. :)

  2. One of those magically gentle but oh so clean facial washes that also cost a pretty penny! Intriguing, though. I turn oily-dry whenever I get overzealous with the acne meds, so I keep cleansing and moisturizing stuff for both dry and oily skin. Can't imagine what it's like for people who have to deal with that every day. It must be so stressful

    1. Ikr! Must be really hard for them. I agree, this is one of the super gentle facial cleansers out there. Great to know that it lathers up even with just a tiny dot, thus I may not need to repurchase this every month! :D

  3. This makes me excited to try Origins products. A cleanser that works for with dry and oily skin. This is impressive! Though the price of this for a cleanser is a bit pricey for me to gave it a try if it works well on me too. Thanks for the unlimited reviews! Much appreciated<3

  5. Definitely pricey for a facial wash but it looks super good. :) Konti lang ba talaga kailangan for the whole face? If that is so, then matipid din. Still haven't checked out origins. :/ I think I will buy the masks first. :)
