THE VERDICT:
Pretty, flushed cheeks- it's a Filipina makeup look staple and is always achieved by a cheek tint. I'd like to let you know that you can achieve the same look with other blush products like powder and cream like this duo from Revlon.
WHAT IS IT?
Revlon's classic powder blush features a soft, silky texture with buildable coverage. I have the new shade called Orchid, a warm pink shade with a hit of lavender; reminds me of MAC powder blush in Coygirl.
Insta-Blush is their newest cheek product; it features 4 shades for blushing, contouring, and highlighting. It's a light cream blush with a smooth, semi- moisturizing finish and promises to deliver a kiss of color.
The shade I got is called Berry Kiss, a warm, berry pink shade. Texture is smooth, glides on easily, and pigmentation is light to medium, perfect for those who just want a sheer flush of color on the cheek. I actually like its pigmentation because it's not intense and is a good base for virtually any color of powder blush just because it's sheer. However, if you're going to rely on it alone as a blush, it's pretty sheer and fares better on fair skin.
Insta-Blush + Powder Blush
First, I applied Insta-Blush as base and topped it with the powder blush in Orchid; the result is a pretty, light flushed look; this duo is great for morenas too. The cream blush helps the powder blush last longer; just layer on the powder if you want a more intense look.

The blush looks natural on you ms M! I havent tried their blush but I love their Matte Stain Balms and YES their eyeshadow! I tried their lippies and my younger sibs loves them too (got Mauve) Hope they're inlcuded on their current sale promo! I would love to buy but Im still emptying pans pa.
ReplyDeleteI love coral/orangy shade of blushes.
Thanks for sharing! Their blushes are good!
DeleteWhy are they used at the same time? For longer lasting blush? Can it be use separately as well?
ReplyDeleteYes you can use them separately. Together if you want a longer lasting blush. :)
DeleteI would love to try the Insta-blush for I think it will have more lasting power within the day. And gives a soft natural flush just like tints or other cream blush.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty for an everyday look! Nakaka fresh lang ganon!
ReplyDeleteYessss!
DeleteI have Revlon Colourbust Matte Balm kase mejo nagdry lips ko dun. Thanks for this post Ms M.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Awww, sorry to hear that. I loved that balm.
DeleteI'm afraid of using cream blushes kasi baka ma-move niya yung foundation underneath. Hope you'll have a separate youtube vids on how to apply different kinds of blushes ☺️
ReplyDeleteI have the samw shade of insta blush! It is creamy, easy to apply and blend as well. I use this on my lips and eyes as well for a monochromatic look. Using it as a stain on lips emphasizes the lines so I make sure that I exfoliate but the finish is very natural like someone bitten my lips. It is not that long lasting so I apply a bit of blush with almost the same shade to set it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and your tip! We pretty much do the same with instablush. :)
DeleteNever pa po ako nakapagtry ng cream blush Ms. Martha because I have large pores, feeling ko po kase lalong magiging visible po sila huhu Pero ang ganda po ng powder blush nila dito :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yeah, cream might emphasize pores so stick with powder or liquid. :)
Pero I wonder how you applied it, kasi never ko pa natry yung blush na cream. Hindi ako marunong and parang feeling ko, yung product e makakaapekto dun sa foundie. Hmm.
ReplyDeleteNo it won't; just apply it on top of liquid foundation then set afterwards. :)
DeleteNever try of cream blush ever. But I want to try it soon then do the same technique you did. Maybe it will never fade agad nga.
ReplyDeleteYup! tHis technique will help blush last longer. :)
DeleteI'm not a blush kind of girl, pero this one got me hooked! I'd surely try this ate. It looks natural kasi, and bagay sa morena like me. Para sakin mahirap pumili ng shade ng blush kasi it can ruin the whole look. Pero I can say that this is perfect for me 😍
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Indie. Yes, orchid blushes look good on warm skin!
DeleteLet me know what you think of this post! :)
