THE VERDICT:

One of my favorite things to do on a Friday night is indulge in a long, relaxing skin care regimen; I mask for almost an hour and give time to discovery and play with skin care. One of the mask brands that I’m into lately is Pixi; I received a sample of Glow Mud Mask and T-Zone peel- off mask recently and have been using both for two weeks straight now. This duo gives me a relaxing 20- minute facial right at home!

Glow Mud Mask is a hydrating and purifying mask infused with Ginseng to give skin a cleansing boost. T-Zone Mask is a peel- off mask that contains Green Tea for antioxidant benefits and helps rid the t- zone area of excess sebum, dirt, and whiteheads.

Glow Mud Mask is a light cream mask that’s easy to spread and provides a light cooling effect; it has a light floral scent. I leave it on for 10 minutes or more if I prefer. After washing my face, my skin immediately looks brighter. Unlike clay masks that are drying, tight, and uncomfortable, this mask has a more pliable texture and feels quite comfortable that I can leave it on longer. It doesn’t leave my face dry and taut after use. That said, I think this is ideal not only for normal and oily skin, but dry-oily skin as well because the clay ingredient will get rid of oil while the hydrating and skin- boosting Ginseng extract will give skin moisture and take away dullness that is oftentimes associated with dry skin.

Glow Mud Mask sets in about 3 minutes and rinses off easily with warm or cold water. I remove everything with a foaming facial wash to ensure that nothing is left behind.

T-Zone Mask is a pearlized, thick, gooey substance that’s quite hard to spread, but it’s meant to be that way because it’s meant to harden so you can peel it off. It has a light green tea fragrance and the shiny light green color is just so cool! Apply a thick, generous layer for easy peeling. What’s great about this mask is it peels off evenly, thus you get its full benefits. The reason why I stopped using peel- off masks is because I think they’re just a waste of money; most formulas break easily, but I think I’ll be reconsidering it again because of this product; seriously, I’ve used it four times already and formula is really good because it peels of evenly every time. It also picks up a good amount of excess dirt and whiteheads, leaving my t- zone clean, de-clogged, and smooth- looking. However, like all peel- off masks, this hurts a bit when you’re finally peeling it off that’s why it’s best to use such masks on a small part only. If you have sensitive skin, please do a patch test before purchasing.

P.S. Don’t use the peel- off mask often because it may lead to sensitized skin.

This duo is great to execute a 20- minute at home massage without having to deal with traffic, parking, heading to a mall, and spending extra $$$. Both tubes can last for about a month to two months if used twice a week.
