Aloe Vera Gel is probably the next best thing since facial wash; I may be exaggerating, but if you browse online, specifically in beauty groups and beauty blogs, almost everyone is either raving, asking about, using, or at least trying to get to know aloe vera gels.
Aloe Vera gels were popularized by Korean Beauty brands; it's actually a multi-purpose product meant for general skin use such as soothing sunburn and skin scrapes, keeping skin cool, moisturizing skin, and minimizing itch from insect bites among other things. Eventually, this product has found its way into the daily skin care routine of Filipinas.
Truth is, regardless of the brand, these are all Aloe Vera gels-period. But as a beauty investigator, I can't help, but wonder if there's still something else that's behind all the benefits, aside from good ol' Aloe Vera. So I decided to look closely at the ingredients to know what makes these gels a bit more special.
Today, let's take a look at three popular Aloe Vera gels, according to beauty enthusiasts from Facebook groups and beauty influencers/bloggers/vloggers; I'll point out some ingredients in these gels that warrant a purchase, aside from having a high concentration of aloe vera.
ESFOLIO MOISTURE SOOTHING ALOE VERA
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL:
- Tagged as '4 FREE', which most likely refers to 'free from common allergens in cosmetics', although brand did not mention in the label which specific ingredients are these.
OTHER BEST INGREDIENTS:
1. UREA- a naturally- occurring compound in the skin, which is a component of NMF or Natural Moisturizing Factors. NMFs are a mix of powerful humectants that are responsible in balancing, locking in, and attracting moisture to the skin.
2. COQ10- a powerful anti- aging ingredient, it's a naturally- occurring compound in the body that has antioxidant benefits as well.
3. CAMELLIA SINENSIS- or Green Tea; this plant is widely used in skin care products and best known for its powerful antioxidant benefits and a rich source of Polyphenols, which is great in improving the appearance of damaged skin.
4. POLYGLUTAMIC ACID- dubbed as a better version of Hyaluronic Acid as it can hold four times more water than HA; Polyglutamic Acid has larger molecules that can form a large water barrier across skin to prevent water loss plus has the ability to give skin a plump look.
CONCLUSION:
Esfolio Moisture Aloe Vera gel is perfect for those with dry, aging skin with mild sun damage.
