THE VERDICT:
Thirteen years after the House of Mugler unveiled one of the world's most iconic perfumes, ANGEL, they revealed another perfume called ALIEN. For me, if Angel is for the sensual-sophisticated, Alien is for the eccentric-sexy. Both are oriental fragrances in nature (meaning exotic and richly- scented), but Angel is more on the heavy, powdery side and Alien is on the sweet floral side, and I like the latter more.
Alien was launched in 2005. In 2019, Alien Fusion was unveiled. This version of Alien is perfect for the modern times, for the progressively feminine woman who always aims for the extraordinary, the powerful, and the out of this world.
Alien Fusion by Mugler is classified as an oriental floral fragrance. Top notes have Ginger and cinnamon. Middle notes are orange blossom and tuberose. Base notes have white vanilla and amber.
Can we stop for a moment and appreciate how gorgeous the bottle is?! Alien's original flacon concept is a talisman stone: provocative, enticing, extraordinary, mythical; an inspiration and complement to the signature oriental floral fragrance of Alien. Whenever I'm holding this in my hand, it's like I'm holding a giant diamond or one of the Infinity Stones LOL. It's also such a pretty sight on my dresser!
Alien Fusion starts off powdery with a kick of spice; next, it mellows into a powdery floral fragrance. The final anchor of the fragrance is an exotic floral with spices lingering in the background and with a light glazing of vanilla. You may think that this seems like a heavy fragrance because I said spices, but to be frank, this is a more wearable version of Alien for us in the tropics compared to the first one because it has a much lighter scent. But then again, it depends on the type of fragrance you prefer; if you are not into oriental scents, you may not like this.
Staying power is very good; it stays the whole day on me most especially if I spray it on the warm and hidden portions of my skin; it has medium sillage-it sits close to your body, but can be identified by the person right beside you on and off, which I like because I don't want to annoy the person I'm with all throughout with my perfume; also, you don't need a lot of this fragrance to smell good too!
Alien Fusion is such a progressive scent: it's sweet, light, romantic, and all that feminine stuff, but somewhere in the background, there's a balsamic note that comes out every now and then, a note that reminds me of the spirit of uniqueness. You get kicks of spices as the fragrance lingers, notes that resemble power and expression because spices are highly discernible individually and can make or break dishes! Alien is never too feminine, somewhat masculine, evolving, but definitely has a signature scent! Usually, I can describe perfumes flat out as feminine, unisex, or masculine, but Alien Fusion is something else and I like the unique playfulness of it!
Alien Fusion is for the progressively feminine: a woman who owns her fierceness, her power, her sensuality; she is tender yet a tiger, charismatic and strategic, sensual but won't tolerate your disrespect, aware of the world and continually aims for the extraordinary--that's why I love wearing this perfume to work or to a meeting; it's one of my favorite Girl Boss perfumes!
Have you tried this perfume already? What are your thoughts?
