THE VERDICT:
Mae Layug is probably one of the most hardworking Filipina Youtubers I have ever met and one of the most down-to-earth too-and she knows how to utilize the fame she's been given. Fame is a gift that not a lot of creators are given and I've always believed that if you were lucky enough to be blessed by it, then you should use it to better your life and the lives of those around; Mae is doing exactly just that by becoming an entrepreneur and I wish aspiring content creators would look up to and emulate her. If you're a content creator and currently reading this, if you become famous one day, I hope you will treasure the gift of fame and use it for the greater good; you don't have to be an entrepreneur if it's not your thing; just use it for the good. ;)
Anyway! Pleased to announce that finally, her brand is out and it's GRWM COSMETICS and their pilot product is a Multiuse Creamy Milk Tint. I'm swatching and reviewing all the shades below!
GRWM Cosmetics is playfully named after one of the most popular terms in beauty vlogging; to the uninitiated, GRWM means GET READY WITH ME, which is a popular video theme among beauty vloggers where they immerse their viewers in their everyday makeup routine and journey while discussing other equally controversial/important/interesting topics; such an apt brand name for it perfectly reflects the influence of the brand and its founder.
GRWM Cosmetics first product is a Multiuse Creamy Milk Tint that comes in six shades. The PR box is available for purchase as well and there is a smaller bundle for those who love tints, but can't afford to spend a lot at the moment, and singles for those who want to test the product first.
Regarding brand aesthetic, it's very modern and kinda' has that 70's vibe, which I hope GRWM will explore more in the future because I'm kinda' getting tired of all that minimalist aesthetic for now; I want some color and vibes LOL.
Ingredients
The tints come in six shades with a majority of it favoring morena and warmer skin tones, which me and my brown skin appreciate.
The tube comes with a slim dispenser, which gives you more control over the product you take and trust me, you need it because the product is very pigmented (more about that later).
When I opened the products, I noticed that there were streaks in the dispenser, which was probably due to the air in the tubes that's pushing out a bit of the product; it's no biggie and once you open and press the tube, the excess air is released; no leakage observed with the packaging.
Each box comes with two sets of sticker labels that you will fill up and stick on your tubes to remind you when to use it up, replace it, or toss it out. This is a nice touch on the product since product shelf life is becoming a big concern and discussion among beauty enthusiasts.
Here are the shades.
Consistency is a rich, creamy tint that's easy to spread, lightweight, and super pigmented. Pigmentation is INTENSE and reminds me of
EB Advance's Power Paint, but much creamier, better for dry skin types, and has more shade options.
Me wearing Mixed Berries
These guys weren't kidding when they said that the tints are pigmented; I dabbed five tiny dots on each cheek and I've overdone the application; thankfully, the product is quite easy to remedy: I just topped it with powder foundation to tame the intensity. I like that it's very spreadable, doesn't have a dry, flat finish even if finish is matte, and most of all, perfect to be used on top of makeup. It also has a nice sweet floral scent.
How's the staying power? It's pretty good and take note, I have oily skin! I've worn this under a mask and color transfer wasn't that bad; I still had some color on my cheeks after 4 hours of wear with me wearing a mask on top of it for the most part. I also like that it doesn't dry out my lips and has good staying power on the lips too. My favorite shades are Mixed Berries, 100% Sugar, and Wintermelon.
It's not a new product as there are lots of tints around nowadays, but overall, a good product so good job on this one, GRWM Cosmetics! GRWM Cosmetics Multiuse Creamy Milk Tint is great for all skin types, especially dry skin types and it's also perfect for you if you're looking for a tint that won't transfer as much on face masks.
Have you tried this product already? What are your thoughts and favorite shades?
