Remember my review on Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Powder? It went viral last 2019 when Baking was practically essential in makeup routines and a lot claimed that this powder was great for it. I bought one because of the hype and it was just okay for me.

That's until I met its translucent version.

Laura Mercier sent me a compact of Translucent Powder Pressed last week; truth be told, I wasn't expecting a lot, but lo and behold, I ended up liking it!

Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, according to the brand, is a high performance powder that promises 12-hour oil control, blurs and softens the appearance of lines and pores, and has no photo flashback.

The product comes in a sizable compact. The bottom houses the powder puff, which has the right amount of fluff and solidness; it doesn't feel like those flimsy, generic puffs that don't blend nor distribute product at all.

Laura Mercier Translucent Pressed Powder comes in two shades: Translucent and Translucent Medium Deep. As mentioned in my review of the loose variant, this product isn't exactly translucent because of its semi- creamy texture, which means it will leave a tinge of color on the skin and Laura Mercier acknowledges that that's why they are offering two universal shades for the product. At the moment, I am using Translucent because my skin tone has gotten so pale because of staying inside the house for too long (and I'm dying for some sea and sun!).

The powder has a nice, creamy texture. It starts off sheer and you can build it up to your liking. It is unscented and low- dusting so perfect for those who get irritated easily by dust and powder.

Laura Mercier's Translucent Powder really has good blurring and smoothing effects. It's like I put a filter on top of my face or something whenever I have this powder on.

As for staying power, I find that this lasts longer than the loose one. I guess the format has affected the formula for the better? Or maybe the formula has been improved? Whatever it is, what I'm certain about is this version works so well on me! Oil control is better: my face takes about 4-5 hours before oil beings to creep into the surface and I have noticed that my makeup transfers less on my face mask. It has little to no flashback and even if it's a bit lighter than my skin tone, it looks okay.

So it's a happy ending after all for me and Laura Mercier's famous Translucent powder; it's just that I had to get the pressed one for me. I love this powder because it keeps my makeup intact the whole day, keeps me looking fresh, and gives me back my 25 year old skin every time I use it! :D
