Welcome to our 4th day in Singapore and I'll show you a good, full day itinerary at the Marina Bay Sands and Merlion Park area.
CHINATOWN
First order of business, breakfast at Maxwell Center in Chinatown, one of the popular Hawker centers in the area because it is home to Tian Tian Chicken, the highly- raved Hainanese Chicken shop in Singapore. Maxwell Center is near Merlion Park and Marina Bay Sands.
So is it good? I really like the broth used in the rice of Tian Tian Chicken, but it isn't mind- blowing in my opinion and doesn't really warrant a dedicated visit in case you are not near the area or the Merlion Park/,Marina Bay Sands are not part of your itinerary. In my opinion, Hainanese Chicken rice in Singapore has a signature taste and generally, they all taste good so my suggestion is just grab it if you see it-it doesn't have to be the Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken brand.
Fancy a cultural side trip? If you have time, head to Buddha Relic Temple; Maxwell Food Center is in the Chinatown area; there are lots of good restaurants and places to visit here so if you don't have an itinerary to follow, then be sure to wander around the area.
MERLION PARK
If you have the budget, you can have lunch by the bayside at the Fullerton Area where the Merlion Park is located. Fullerton offers the most stunning views of the Marina Bay Sands building and the bay.
Finally, I got to see the Merlion Park! Well, what can I say? It's a cool fountain! Nothing extravagant here, but it's nice to see one of the icons of the country.
MARINA BAY SANDS
Before our Art and Science Museum visit, we picked up Bacha Coffee first, which is popular among tourists and locals. The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands Bacha Coffee branch is the only branch that serves take away coffee.
This interactive museum is all over the leading countries in Asia; I've always wanted to visit it because I loved lighting design in college and anything related to digital art. Arts and Science Museum is a cool way to beat the Singapore heat.
The crystal room of Art and Science Museum, which is arguably the most popular spot in the museum. It's just a small room with a mini lights show. Really nice for picture- taking too!
The Flower Dome is one of the biggest gardens in Asia that houses thousands of plant, tree, and flower species from around the world. Flower Dome also has seasonal fauna showcases and last July, it was the Hydrangea showcase. I love Hydrangeas and I'm so happy to see so many variants!
Finally, we headed to Cloud Forest and did the Cloud Forest walk.
Cloud Forest is a recreation of the famous natural cloud forests around Asia. This gigantic greenhouse aims to raise awareness on the importance of cloud forests and call to the attention of the public the many threats these are going through due to human intervention and climate change; through this magnificent installation, Singapore hopes to encourage everyone to take more proactive stances towards environment protection and activism and it starts with appreciation through the Cloud Forest.
We weren't able to visit the Super Trees anymore because it was nearly 6:30 PM and we had to go back to Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands to meet a friend for dinner.
The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands is home to more than a hundred mid-range to high end luxury stores. It is also home to one of the biggest Apple stores and home to the biggest Louis Vuitton store in the world, which is floating right above seawater!
That's all for Day 4 and we'll see you on our 5th and 6th days in Singapore, which are also our last days. See you then!
I also created a vlog of my experience so watch it here:
