FOTD: Up in smoke

Hola! Here's my most favorite night time look. :)

STEP 1: Apply a cream- colored eyeshadow in order to make the colors appear more vibrant.

STEP 2: Since I'm dealing with black eyeshadow, I applied loose powder on my under eyes to catch any fall out and prevent it from staining my face.

STEP 3: Apply black eyeshadow on your lids and carefully blend inwards. Apply black eyeshadow sparingly and by layers to prevent it from looking too bold or thick.

STEP 4: Apply silver eyeshadow on your inner lids and carefully blend towards the black eyeshadow for a fading effect.

STEP 5: Let eyeshadows settle for a few seconds, then start dusting off the loose powder with a fan brush

STEP 6: To define your eyes more in a smokey eye makeup look, it is necessary to line your lower lids with a black eyeliner. To prevent thick and fake- looking lines, dab a blunted black eyeliner on your lower lids. Continue doing so until you've reached your desired color intensity. I also like smudging it a little all the way to the top part of my under eyes for that ramp- worthy smokey eye look.

I just did the classic smokey eye, and gave it a fun title haha. :)

  1. Great tutorial! But I can't seem to make it work...Or I guess I'm not that comfortable wearing black eyeshadow. :)

  2. chinadoll: thanks dear! maybe you could try dark gray eyeshadows, as black can be too intimidating to some. :)
