Happy Friday, guys! I just want to share, every Friday, I work from home or anywhere near my house because I just cannot deal with Manila's Friday traffic; too much time wasted on the road and being productive is impossible if you will go around the city on a Friday. This is one of the perks of being self- employed, unless of course there is an event, a meeting, or I just have to be at the office. I also love staying near my house on a Friday so I can easily go home and hang out or go out with my family. How about you? How do you deal with Friday?
I'll be waiting for you stories. In the meantime, our fan mail fridays question is from Camille and she asks:
Hi Ms. Martha,
I love tinted lip balms and I'm looking at trying out more. Right now, I'm using Nivea Fruity Shine as my affordable TLB and Fresh Sugar as my expensive TLB. What else can you recommend?
Camille
Hi Camille!
Howdy? Just like you, I love tinted lip balms too! Because tinted lip balm is one of my gateways to the world of beauty that's why after all these years, it's still one of my essentials. My love for tinted lip balm may be more sentimental, but there is no denying that it's one of the most useful beauty products around; because it's so multitasking!
Here are my favorite tinted lip balms categorized from affordable to expensive. Take your pick!
SPEND
1. DIOR LIP GLOW COLOR REVIVER BALM (P1,900.00+)
- Dior's super famous lip balm. This lip balm promises to hydrate, moisturize, and soothe chapped lips, and the product promises to give lips a subtle, healthy pop of color that adjusts to your skin's PH. I love this lip balm to bits! For one, it doesn't come off easily and the color is very natural and prettifying to say the least. I don't know if it's just me, but I noticed that my lips looked much pinker when I used it consistently for a month. More about this in a separate review soon!
2. FRESH SUGAR LIP TREATMENT (Around P1,200.00+)
- The first expensive tinted lip balm I owned. I love this because it gives a cushiony, hydrating effect to the lips and overall, makes lips look too juicy. Great to use when your lips are really dry. My personal favorite shade is Rose.
3. BURT'S BEES TINTED LIP BALM (Around P500.00)
- The most affordable in the SPEND batch. A dependable, accessible lip balm that gives a light hydrating effect and hint of color.
- Benefit's best- selling tints in lip balm form. These are pretty rich lip balms that can be a good alternative to the consistency of Fresh Sugar lip treatment.
- Clinique's best- selling shade of the tinted lip balm called Almost Lipstick. This shade got so popular in 2013 because it is apparently the perfect dark red tint for all skin tones. I still have mine from 2013 and I still can't throw it away because it's hard to find!
SAVE
- An emollient lip balm that yields a soft hint of color. Great for really dry lips and for overnight moisturizing!
2. LIPICE TINTED LIP BALM (P145.00)
- A good affordable lip balm with SPF! My personal fave is Rose. This one has a light texture and yummy scent!
- A pigmented lip balm that acts as an alternative to lipstick. It has Argan Oil that helps keep flakies at bay.
4. NIVEA FRUITY SHINE LIP BALM (Around P80.00+)
- One of my first favorite tinted lip balms! I'll always have a place in my heart for cherry because of the yummy scent and light, easy color that it gives to my lips.
10. HUMAN NATURE TINTED LIP BALM (P99.75)
- Affordable and shades suit Filipina skin tone! It's also made with Cocoa Butter that's known for its great moisturizing properties, plus it melts at 38 degrees, which is normal body temperature, thus it gets absorbed easily by the lips.
That's all! Do share with me your favorite lip balms!
