Popular Filipino Beauty Products on Social Media

I was browsing THE BEAUTY JUNKEES UNITE Facebook group yesterday when I got the idea for this blog post; a lot of the TBJ Beshies have brought up their favorite beauty products in one group thread and the common denominator among the products that they like is they are or were at one point, famous on social media.

So here are some of the popular Filipino beauty products on social media that you can try out in case you're looking for something new to try or you're in shopping mode at the moment!

1. FASHION 21 DOUBLE UP MASCARA

 

- One of the most popular mascaras that beauty bloggers and youtubers raved about in 2018! Fashion 21 Double Up Mascara was well- loved because it's affordable, gave users defined, elongated lashes, and it's Filipino too. Another reason why I think it became famous is because Maybelline has always been the reigning affordable mascara brand and finally, there was a formidable challenger that offered consumers that much- needed variety.

2. CRAYONS BB CREAM

- One of the super affordable yet great finds that piqued the interest of Filipino makeup lovers. I remember, around three years ago, girls were always talking about this product in Facebook groups and I think it has single- handedly catapulted HBC to popularity in Facebook groups. Years after, I still think that this is one of my best super affordable makeup finds!

3. HUMAN HEART NATURE SUNFLOWER OIL

- Even during my Girltalk days, this beauty oil is already a favorite of many because a lot claimed that it's great for lightening armpits. I haven't had that experience, but I liked this before because it's very moisturizing and great to use as a body oil. Thanks to Tiktok, Human Heart Nature's Sunflower Oil had a newfound fame because Tiktokers have been showcasing in videos that it's a great skin lightener together with Abonne's Milk Spa Salt.

4. MYRA-E VITAMIN E SUPPLEMENT

- When I think of Vitamin E, Myra-E always comes to mind because it's arguably the most notable Vitamin E supplement in the country. Myra-E found fame online because some vloggers and Tiktokers have been pricking Myra E capsules and mixing them with topical skin care products in videos, claiming that the concoction helps skin glow better since the Vitamin E extract from the capsule is much more concentrated, ergo more potent. However, some dermatologists and skin experts have advised against the skin care trend and this way of usage of Myra E's supplement simply because it's meant for oral and not topical use, and may cause allergic reactions to the skin. 

5. TEVIANT LIQUID EYELINER

- A product that a lot of the TBJ Beshies have been raving about on The Beauty Junkees Unite Facebook group. A lot swear by Teviant Eyeliner's waterproof prowess, especially since face mask usage contributes to the significant fading of makeup during wear. A lot love using this product during workouts too!

6. CELETEQUE HYDRATION FACIAL MOISTURIZER

- A favorite among young skin care enthusiast groups on social media. I didn't imagine that this product would be very popular among the youth! Not surprising because this moisturizer is pretty good, does the job, affordable, and works for almost any skin type, plus the formula is perfect for our humid climate!

7. KIND BEAUTY HEAD IN THE CLOUDS MAKEUP BRUSH SET

- A Filipino makeup brush brand that got a lot of Pinay vloggers and bloggers raving! This fluffy brush set is sturdy, dependable, affordable, and has very soft animal hair- like bristles, but surprise--it's vegan! This is one of my best Filipino beauty finds. I heard that this set is always out of stock so good luck scoring a set!

8. COLOURETTE VELVETINTS

- Who else doesn't know Colourette and its equally famous owner, Nina Dizon-Cabrera? Colourette rose to stardom for their modern, straightforward marketing strategies and brand campaigns that champion Filipina beauty and for Nina's vocal stances on local social issues. Colourette remains one of the most popular online multipurpose makeup products in the Philippines.
