2021 was the year when skin care continued to have a meteoric rise; K Beauty still dominated the air waves, skin care routines got even more minimalist, preference for skin care steered towards multitasking products, and locally, rejuvenating skin care sets and products maintain pop culture status among the masses.
The skin care industry continues to evolve; we're yet to find out what brands will offer this year, but one thing's for sure: this skin care enthusiast is pretty excited for the skin care advancements 2022 will bring.
For now, let us do a wayback Wednesday post and recap some of the best skin care, hair care, body care, and wellness products of 2021, personally tried, tested, and curated by yours truly.
BEST MAKEUP REMOVER: BIOTEN SKIN MOISTURE MICELLAR WATER
- A great micellar water find! This removes even the most waterproof mascara and eyeliner, plus it doesn't sting the eyes. It's more affordable than eye and lip makeup removers, and plus points because I can use it to remove face makeup as well.

BEST FACIAL WASH: ESFOLIO 3HA CLEAR CLEANSING FOAM
- It's a rich, cream cleanser that produces moderate to rich foam and has a nice, minty fragrance; the minty fragrance is so refreshing that it reminds me of a minty chewing gum; I dunno, but I like the fragrance so much! :D It rinses off easily and doesn't leave my face dry, surprisingly despite the acid content and mint extract!

4. Pavi Elle Hyaluronic Foam Cleanser
- It has an average amount of micro- beads so it isn't that abrasive, but you feel that it is effectively exfoliating your skin.

- After two weeks of usage, I have noticed that my skin seems to be absorbing skin care better because I've been seeing favorable results faster. I used this in conjunction with OH Banana Bright Vitamin C skin care range and I have noticed that my skin has a noticeable brightness and smoothness the following day versus before where it took me a couple of days to see a tinge of brightness on my skin and marks. I really felt that this toner helped accelerate my skin's turnover, which in turn has caused it to be more receptive to skin care, plus it helps prevent acne and helps control breakouts too.

- Nu Skin's skin care for teens fortifies skin with nutrients so it can adapt better to its environment; it also has mild ingredients and acids such as Lactic Acid, and the formula is great for oily skin and humid weather; it's very moisturizing and despite the gel formula, it doesn't leave my skin dry and the moisture lasts the whole day.
SPECIAL MENTION:
- Hands down, this is perhaps one of the best skin care and Vitamin C products I have tried. The products have effectively lightened my marks and the best part? No sensitivity, redness, and breakout; because COMMONLABS.is all about creating good ol’ skin care products that work using tried and tested skin care methods and Vitamin formulas. I highly recommend the ampoule if you want instantaneous brightening and the moisturizer for deep hydration and for giving skin a juicy, clear glow!

- It's very lightweight, leaves a protective film, but doesn't feel occlusive in any way. It's also waterproof, sweat- proof, and oil- proof! I felt that I still had sunscreen on my face at the end of the day and I even noticed that it helps my makeup's longevity because of its water and sweat- resistant properties.

BEST TREATMENT: ESFOLIO 3HA CLEAR TEA TREE SPOT OIL
- Esfolio Clear Tea Tree Spot Oil is a liquid spot treatment that seems watery, but has a hint of moisture/oil in it, which allows the product to adhere better and longer on the skin. I love using this lately on my fresh zits caused by face mask usage because it has a cool, minty scent, which effectively masks the odor of Tea Tree; I also love that that acid ingredient sloughs away dead skin cells surrounding the zits, which helps the Tea Tree extract penetrate better, thus expediting the healing process.
BEST EYE CREAM: CETAPHIL HYDRATING EYE CREAM
- A soothing, moisturizing eye cream that can be used day or night. Gives under eyes a smooth, plump look.
BEST SKIN CARE SET: MOMOPURI PEACH CERAMIDES SET
- Overall, I love Momopuri because this is a good probiotic skin care line that did not break me out, the scent is good, my skin looks genuinely nourished and hydrated from the inside out, and I just love the rosy effect it gives my skin; must be the effect of lactic acid on me!
I highly recommend this range to those who are looking for a below-P1000 acid skin care range, dry/oily-normal skin type, and if you have mild signs of aging that you would like to delay for a little while!

- Both products have the same juicy, refreshing lemon peel fragrance. The fragrance is so close to the real thing and you feel that they did not skimp on the ingredients.
Lemon Hair and Body Wash lathers well, but it does not leave my skin dry nor taut; I also love using this as a clarifying shampoo because of the clear, moisturizer- free formula and doesn't feel drying on the scalp too.

BEST BODY MOISTURIZER: PHYSIOGEL CALMING RELIEF AI CREAM
- Last year, I've developed a lot of dry spots and itchies on my skin, which was perhaps due to stress and the weather. Physiogel's AI Cream has been my skin savior; it soothes dryness and tames flaky, itchy skin.

- I've been using Strawberry a lot lately because I love the fragrance and how light it makes my hair feel. I also love the additional shine that it gives my hair plus it smells great the whole day too!

- I am honestly impressed by this! I mean, I don't mind using affordable hair color, but that belief still kicks in once in a while whenever I have to color my hair and personally, I don't think I'll ever choose hair color that's P60 only, but good thing I tried iColor! If not, I wouldn't discover this super affordable, great hair color find that lets me save a good amount of money from hair treatments that I can allot to other, more important expenses. The best part is the color is rich, nice, and the formula did not dry out my hair.
iColor is great for a quick hair color change at home or as an affordable retouching product for gray hair. I'm really happy with this product and I now don't mind using very affordable hair color, thanks to iColor. Indeed, don't judge a book by its cover! :D
